New Master Chief statue by Kotobukiya

Revealed today is this fantastic sculpt of Halo 4’s Master Chief.artfx_masterchief_0928-ab66dc72cd4545de932e2092daa4cfd2

Here’s the text blurb from Kotobukiya:

The fans demanded it, and now Kotobukiya triumphantly returns to the best-selling Halo series with an all new Master Chief ARTFX Statue, available in November! Stepping right out of Halo 4, the mega popular video game character wears his MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor and strides down a high tech ramp in a Forerunner facility. The Chief carries his trusty Battle Rifle and comes equipped with two sets of interchangeable arms that let you pose the hero with weapon at the ready or held over his shoulder with a frag grenade in the other hand! The intricately sculpted armor captures every detail you know from the game with screen accurate detail from Chief’s two-tone green armor to his iconic gold hued visor. There’s even limited articulation at the neck and waist so you can create your own poses! Sculpted by M.I.C., Master Chief ARTFX stands nearly 12 inches tall and makes for a perfect centerpiece for your Halo collection. Watch for more ARTFX and ARTFX+ Halo statues coming soon from Kotobukiya!

No cost as yet has been given. Or none that I can find. I’m betting on this being in the $250 range. Far out of my affordability.

Now having seen this, are any of YOU considering getting this?

Halo Concept Art: Halo 4 vehicles/ships

Okay, this one is a little lean. However, the point is to find concept art that has either never or rarely been seen before. So these articles are not meant to be exhaustive in coverage, but rather either snippets or a little more. With that in mind…

halo_4_artehalo4cortana_kotakubr03The above pic is obviously the revamped Forward Unto Dawn. While I do not agree with 343’s changing the design of the ship, I will say that this concept is quite good. I like the girder protrusions. They add some color as well as defining more the devastation from being torn in half at the end of Halo 3.

Next up are a few pieces of art for the Excavator. The Covie vehicle in Spartan Ops.halo_4_excavator_head_by_paul_richardsThis looks otherworldly for sure. More like a sea creature though that a mobile mining platform.

This simplistic concept has enough details and “callouts” to understand the orientation of and various elements of the vehicle.

halo_4_excavator02_by_paul_richardsVarious other forms the Excavator could have had.

halo_4_excavator03_by_paul_richardsNow this is something strange. It appears that we could have had either an arm attachment to blast the hole or that we would have had to put our arms into this claw like piece to activate the Excavator. I would have liked to have seen this.

The next two pieces show many possibilities for Forerunner ships.halo_4_forerunner_ships_thumbs01_by_paul_richardshalo_4_forerunner_ships_thumbs02_by_paul_richards
Certainly a lot to choose from. Almost too much.

halo_4_unsc_carrier_01_by_paul_richardsThe immediate above and below graphics show concepts of UNSC frigate designs.halo_4_unsc_carrier_02_by_paul_richards
I like the bottom pic’s designs. I wish we would have see the in-game version more and not at a distance.

Finally, one that I’m sure you’re all very familiar with, the UNSC Infinity.halo_4_infinity_01_10k_intothepixel_02_by_john_liberto
When I first saw this, I was pretty happy with it. It’s obvious from the pic that it was HUGE. It reeks of power.

Tomorrow I’ll explore characters of Reach, starting with the UNSC Marines. Over the course of the next several days, the character articles will continue with Noble team; Covenant; Halo 4 Marines, Master Chief, Cortana; H4 Covenant, Forerunner and Flood.

I hope you have been enjoying these concept articles and keep coming back daily for each subsequent ones.
