ISSUE 30

Hello, fiction folks! Thanks for stopping by to spend some weekly eyeball time with us. While E3’s train finally pulled into the station to allow us all a few moments of respite, there is scant time to linger, as the march towards October rolls on and will be filled with scattered nuggets of hypey goodness for fans to sink their eager teeth into. In case you missed it, last week we took a closer look at the newly introduced Armiger constructs, variants of which are seen not just in the recently released Halo: Hunters in the Dark, but also in the campaign and Warzone footage for Halo 5: Guardians, where you seem them more colloquially coined “Soldiers.” This week, we’ll actually take a peek at some of the fictional setting behind the new Warzone mode, giving your minds an idea about how it fits into the overall Halo setting.

CF: ChatterNet – That’s Armor, ‘Eh?

This is a reblog from Halo Waypoint:

Welcome to Canon Fodder: ChatterNet. Normally, we’re the ones culling through all your questions (and boy do you folks like asking questions 😉 ), and trying to give you answers where we can. Well this time, YOU are on the hot seat! Occasionally, you’ll see a thread like this pop up where we’ll ask a question of you, and then pull a few different answers for inclusion in an upcoming Canon Fodder. Remember, we’ll likely be pulling far fewer entries than participants, so hopefully you are here primarily for the glory of discourse!Your question for next week’s Canon Fodder:
What are your favorite Spartan armor designs, and why? Continue reading

Season 2 of the Halo Championship Series is nearing its conclusion, and we’ve got just one more LAN tournament in regular season play! HCS Indianapolis is this weekend and not only will teams be fighting for their share of $50,000, but they’ll also be fighting for their spot in the Season 2 Finals next month at the HCS Season 2 Finals by ESL in Burbank, California. Taking a look at the current standings, Evil Geniuses has continued their domination, winning six out of the eight total tournaments this season. They certainly seem to be the favorites going into the tournament, but hot on their heels are Denial and Winterfox – both of whom are hungry for victory. This will also be the first HCS LAN tournament in which the legendary esports organization Team Liquid makes their appearance. Lead by Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, Team Liquid will be looking to solidify their place in the Season 2 Finals. Continue reading

A few of Concept Artist Kory Hubbell’s, of 343, artwork!!

As you long time readers know, I absolutely LOVE concept art. Seeing where ideas came form is an amazing process to me. Sometime things look close to how they were originally envisions, sometimes they turn out completely different.

Regardless, without concept artwork, the process would come to an abrupt halt.

Below is just a sampling of what Kory Hubbell has done for the Halo franchise:

The following two are concepts for the busts that come with the Halo miniatures board game, produced by Spartan Games (convenient name, huh? LOL). Continue reading

Got Warzone questions for 343?

Yesterday, Bravo put up a thread on HaloWaypoint for fans to ask any questions they have regarding Warzone. There are 16 pages worth.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t look through them all. But there are some good questions in there. I did skim through the first 5 pages though.

Have a look and see if there is a burning question you have regarding Warzone that hasn’t been covered. If so, post that puppy!

Revealing the story of Halo 5 Guardians’ Campaign

This is a reblog from gameinformer:

Over the last fourteen years, countless stories have been told within the Halo universe. We’ve followed humanity’s struggle against the alien Covenant, the god-like Forerunners, and the parasitic Flood through the eyes of a wide roster of characters. Much of it has been told in a variety of media, but whenever there’s a new game it moves everything forward in a major way. Halo 5: Guardians promises to do just that.

Franchise development director Frank O’Connor and writer Brian Reed sat down with us and explained the inner struggles and backstories of our heroes and villains and the overall big picture of the upcoming chapter in the Halo saga.

Awesome fan Locke v Chief art

i saw this via a retweet from BS Angel. imageThe artist is Jamie Gee as you can see by the signature. You can follow him on Twitter at @Pero_Magic.

He’s got some other cool renderings on his profile, so I suggest checking those out and giving her a follow.

If you have some cool Halo art of know of someone else that does, please shoot me an e-mail at [email protected]. I enjoy promoting other fans artwork and giving them another venue to display their work.
