Spartan Points, Spartan Ops, and Forerunner vision..newly proposed names for each.

A topic was made on HaloWaypoint about making new or better names for Spartan Points, Spartan Ops, and Forerunner Vision. The following is what I came up with and posted on HaloWaypoint.

——

Spartan Points:
• Resources
• Weaponry and Armory Resources (WAR)

Spartan Ops:
• Spartan Deployment Initiative (SDI) <–this was also the moniker in the 1980s for Strategic Defense Initiative, introduced by then President Reagan. It was said to be the world’s first known space defense system.
• ONI Spartan Logistics Ops (OSLO) The irony here being that Oslo was the place of the Oslo Accords which were to bring peace to the Middle East.

Forerunner Vision:
• Luminous Telemetry
• Luminous Interfering Telemetry Enhancement (LITE)
• Transparent Refractive Anomalous Calefaction Enhancer (TRACE) To explain the long name: Transparent-pretty obvious there, Refractive-the change of direction of light (or sound), Anomalous (or anomaly)-devitation, Calefaction-a heated state (think thermal vision possibly), Enhancer-intensify/magnify We would no doubt shorten this to T.R.A.C.E. vision. But at least it would have a long thought out name.

As you can tell, I’m big on acronyms. I was in the U.S. Navy and acronyms were used all the time for a myriad of things. From missions to the most mundane things. So creating a name for some of these things, using acronyms for short makes a LOT of sense, given the nature of the military as it’s been for a long time.
