Mega Bloks Halo 2 Anniversary Toys R Us exclusive revealed!

Mega Bloks showed off one of their Halo 2 Anniversary sets at RTX today…

It’s the Shadow! Finally we have that vehicle from Halo 2. I had wondered if we’d ever see it.

I had to lighten this up a bit in photoshop so you could see the set better. It’s a whopper of a set for minifigures. It comes with 10 in all! As you can see on the box, you will also get the first ever Mega Bloks Prophet of Truth AND Sgt. Johnson! On top of those, you get two UNSC Marines, two Jackals, the Arbiter (rarely available before now), and three Elite Honor Guards!

Plus the Shadow itself! With the set coming in at 485 pieces and being a TRU exclusive, I’d guess the retail price to be about $60. TRU does mark up their exclusives a bit, otherwise this would normally be a $50 set. No official word on the price just yet, though I have reached out to Mega for the MSRP. I’ll let you know as soon as I know.

[UPDATE!] I have it from a great source within Mega that the price point will be around $54.99. That’s perfectly acceptable for the piece count, figure count and it being an exclusive. [/UPDATE]

A better pic of the set:

Here’s the back of the box:

And yes, I DO know what the blotted out set is. I’m not allowed to reveal it yet though. But check back tomorrow. As soon as I get the word, it’s okay, you’ll see what is behind the white blot out!

One thing is for sure, I WANT this set. Along with the Scarab coming later this year that also has a Prophet figure, we can only reasonably assume that there will be a THIRD set that will have a Prophet in it as well to make up the triumvirate of the Prophets!

So might you get this set in honor of Halo 2 Anniversary? Or just because it’s a cool set? Or for the Prophet? If you’re getting it, what is your reasoning???

    • It definitely does! Now, i’m hoping we also get the gold civilian warthog I’ve been asking Mega for years to make. We’ll see…

  1. Pretty sure most people will get it for the same reason I’m going to get it: the figures! Correct me if I’m wrong but this is the first time the Thel ‘Vadam Arbiter has been released (the Halo Wars Arbiter was in the Phantom set and a gold Arbiter was released in a special Warthog set). We also get our first ever Johnson and another Prophet not to mention a nice assortment of Covenant and UNSC forces. The option of being able to transport a Ghost is also cool. However, I have mixed feelings on the Shadow itself. I do not know how the Shadow looks like in the Anniversary edition, but when compared to the Shadow in Halo 2, the Mega Bloks one looks to be too narrow and the Covenant soldiers shouldn’t just be hanging off the pegs (they should be standing on a “base”). Also, the turret is downright hideous and resembles nothing like the in-game version. I still look forward to getting this set though :P.

    • Something seems slightly off with the scale of the Shadow. But we’re only seeing box art. So it could have been manipulated. It won’t be long before we see the actual product.
