Mega Bloks has revealed a new Halo 2 Anniversary set today. It’s the Anniversary Collection Battleground set. Starring TARTARUS!
Included with this pack are:
• Tartarus
• 2 UNSC Marines
• 2 Brutes w/Red back fin decorations
By the looks of it, Tartarus might actually be a bit bigger in scale than the other Brutes. He doesn’t have the in-game Fist of Rukt, instead wielding a Gold-lined Gravity Hammer, that looks pretty Bad Arse. Mega likely did this to save on molding a one-off hammer. I’m fine with that really. Besides, I kind of dig the gold trim.
The Marines in the set have the new articulation and removable armor.
This is an INSTANT buy for me. Tartarus is the iconic boss of Halo 2. He’s unique amongst the Brutes as well with his white flowing mohawk, mutton choose and goatee.
Army builders will love this set for the double up on both the marines and regular brutes.
Look for it SOON!

awesome, Brute Captains!!!!!
Heh, I’m happy to have those too. The H2 Marines even more. But Tartarus is the REAL draw for me! I will likely get 2 of this set. But what to do with the extra Tartarus????
A little custom work and you could turn the second into Maccabeus from Contact Harvest. He already has some gold armour on the arm
That would work!
Happy to see a lower-price set. The Marines are nice as always and Tartarus is looking good (for a Brute) but it would be even better if he had the Fist of Rukt. What you said about saving money makes sense but I’m sure many fans will be disappointed that he doesn’t come with his iconic weapon. Also, what kind of Brutes are those? Their “fin” looks like the flag that the Brute Honor Guard have on their armor but the Brutes themselves look nothing like them.
Those are Tartarus’s Clan Brutes. They follow him. The fins are a signature of his clan and were included when the brutes took the place of elites.
I see. Haven’t played Halo 2 in a VERY long time so I don’t remember much about it. The fins look disproportionate to the figures but I guess its the best solution if you want to just use existing pieces and not create new ones.
