I would say the likely hood of seeing a Pelican in Nightfall is 100%, since the nose of one is in the “Crew Directions” picture above. The thing Locke appears to be leaning on is the front cockpit of a D79-TC Pelican. Compare the canopy frame in the picture with the link below.
