Earlier in the month, one of HFFL’s readers sent in pics of another of Target’s exclusive Halo Containment series of sets. Now another set has been revealed. I saw the posting on Target for this one. It’s called the Containment Armory. Like the previously mentioned set, it too has Glow-In-The-Dark features.
Let’s take a look at the front of the box (graphic form Target’s site):
Okay, first up, the set number is 97516. It has 53 pieces. As we can see it includes an orange Carter-like spartan s well as a Zombie Operator Spartan. In the previous set, one of the zombies if the Carter-like figure. So you won’t need to buy two of the larger set to have a full orange Carter-like figure, if you buy this set as well.
As for the armory bit, there are two different styled shotguns, a frag grenade, a shovel and an axe. The Zombie has a green hued energy sword. There are also some really great ‘greeblies’. That is to say, extra set parts. Several sandbags, a barrel, and a traffic cone. Personally, I love these little extras as I feel they add in the realism of a set. The armory structure is pretty basic. It will go great with the bigger set for sure. I’m glad to see it includes TWO of the small angular baseplate pieces.
tThe set costs $9.99. I think that’s totally worth it. The following is the breakdown of the set and why I think it’s worth the price:
2 mini figures. Individually would normally be $3-$3.50 each. So between $6-7 for the both of them.
This leaves $3-4 to be accounted for. Given the weapons, sandbags, baseplates and structure parts, those easily account for that left-over amount.
If you compare that to say a Weapon Pack, you’re actually getting MORE for this $10 set, than with the normal $7 Weapons Pack sets.
Here’s Target’s official blurb on the set:
Gear up to hold off the advancing zombie threat with the Mega Bloks Halo Containment Armory! A UNSC Spartan Commando is backed up against a fully stocked armory, fighting off an infected zombie Spartan Operator. Should his Shotgun run out of ammo, there are plenty of melee weapons to use to repel the threat.

Now, while Target has it listed on their site, strangely enough, you can’t buy it through their site and it says it’s not sold in stores. So this is just a place holder for now. Expect this set to be available VERY soon!
So do you plan on getting this set? I think it’s a cool add-on to the larger Containment series. The third set is a ‘Last Man Standing’ set that has 4 Zombie Spartans and an orange JFO Spartan. Put those all together and you’ll have yourself a nice diorama of Zombies vs. Spartans!

Looking forward to getting the three related sets! This armory will definitely be a great add-on to the Containment Outpost. Not sure how useful those melee weapons will be against Energy Swords though lol.
