This is the other set given to me by my good friend Paul, AKA “StuntPK” (Thanks Paul!!)
As always with these multi-figure packs, all the figs and weapons are displayed nicely.
The back not only shows the set, but some other small sets as well. I’ve not yet seen the Covenant Weapons pack (shown near bottom middle of the three sets).
If you’re careful and cut away the bubble from the cardboard you get a nice shot of Vortex a multiplayer map in Halo 4.
Above shows the contents of the package. Other than the figures, you get a few pieces to make a stand for them.
Here’s the stand. I won’t keep it like this. I use the parts for a custom build.
Here are the weapons and accessories. The Yellow Jackal shield is nice to have. One thing to note is the Active Camo Shotgun. If I recall, this is only the second time this has been done in clear A/C. The first time was with a VERY limited Active Camo Mark IV. There were only 100 of those made and it came with the A/C Shotgun and a 2X4 blok that had the number of 100 that it was printed on it.
A green Imperial Grunt. Though not game accurate for armor color, it’s still a neat little fig to have.
Ah finally another Halo 4 style Jackal. The Jackal has been pretty hard to come by. Even the previous versions have been as well. I’d like to army build this figure a little, but I can’t justify buying the whole multipack for one figure. And I don’t want to go through the hassle of trying to sell off the others.
This Orange Gungnir looks pretty cool. We’ve now seen Red and Yellow (Flame Hog) and Lime Green (Fireteam Venom). I like that we have this in Orange as it goes well with the Containment Orange Spartan sets.
YES! Another translucent figure!! And this time it’s Chief (well, you can pretend it’s Chief anyway)
Here’s the A/C figure with armor off. This is a really cool figure. I’m glad we didn’t have to wait on the Mark VI (Halo 4 style) to come in an Active Camo version.
And here’s the Orange Gungnir with it’s armor off.Looks like the Covies are picking a fight with the Gungnir. Little does the jackal know that another Spartan lurks right behind him! Who do you think will win?? LOL
Summary: This set has practically no build time. For $15 it’s not too bad of a price. It’s a nice mix of Covie characters and two Spartans. I would like to see more painted weapons though. Still, that’s not a detractor from getting the set.
Overall Rating: I give this set 9.5 out for 10 medals. Close to a 10. If either the price was $1-2 less or the weapons would have had painted details on them, then this set would have got a perfect 10.
There is another version of this that came before it. It has the same Jackal and Grunt but with two different Spartans. You can see that set HERE.
Do I recommend it? Yes I do. The new articulated Spartas are great. If you’re an army builder like me, you’ll appreciate having another Jackal and Grunt.
