Halo Master Chief Collection Achievement Guideline – Part 5: Halo 4 Achievements

The fifth of this series of articles for the achievements of the Halo Master Chief Collection brings us to Halo 4. At the bottom will be links for the other parts to this simple guide.

This is just a guideline of course. You may find other ways to get these achievements. It’s just my way of helping you through this massive list.

HFFL Community Friend ‘Tetrahedrite’ wrote up his own guideline and shared it with me. We talk and agreed to share in this guide. I’ll do my best to make mention of his specific contributions.

Now on with part 5 of the guide:

Halo 4 Achievements 51, gamerscore 570

Simple enough for the first 8. Just complete each level. No difficulty requirement.
10G
 Dawn Halo 4: Complete Dawn.
10G Requiem Halo 4: Complete Requiem.
10G Forerunner Halo 4: Complete Forerunner.
10G Infinity Halo 4: Complete Infinity.
10G Reclaimer Halo 4: Complete Reclaimer.
10G Shutdown Halo 4: Complete Shutdown.
10G Composer Halo 4: Complete Composer.
10G Midnight Halo 4: Complete Midnight.

As with the other three games, these stack. Note the last of the 5 below is by yourself. It can be done.
10G Librarian’s Gift Halo 4: Complete every level of the game on Easy difficulty.
10G Wake Up, John Halo 4: Complete every level of the game on Normal difficulty.
20G I Need a Hero Halo 4: Complete every level of the game on Heroic difficulty.
30G The Legend of 117 Halo 4: Complete every level of the game on Legendary difficulty.
30G Lone Wolf Legend Halo 4: Complete every level of the game on Legendary difficulty, by yourself.

Next 8 are the Halo 4 Terminals. I’ll let Tetra in here to state where each of the terminals are located.
5G War Halo 4: Activate Terminal 1 on Requiem.
At the end of the level, you’ll run down a large, long hallway. When you reach the end, the Terminal is located behind the ramp, underneath the platform you need to walk on top of.
5G  Lord of Admirals Halo 4: Activate Terminal 2 on Forerunner.
After a your first skirmish with the Prometheans, you’ll come to a large area with rocky terrain. Battle through until you’re standing on a small ‘balcony’-like forerunner structure. Crawlers and a Knight will jump onto the balcony from the landing below. When the enemies are cleared, drop down. The progression of the level will have you continue up a dirt path to the right. To the left in a forerunner alcove, the terminal is located.
5G Charum Hakkor Halo 4: Activate Terminal 3 on Infinity.
After you meet with Lt. Lasky, you’ll spawn in a room with the other Marines. Before exiting, turn around and you’ll see the terminal.
5G  Flood Halo 4: Activate Terminal 4 Reclaimer.
After you meet the Librarian and are exiting you’ll enter a hallway leading to an elevator. Before getting on the elevator, the terminal is to the right in the hallway.
5G  Knights Halo 4: Activate Terminal 5 on Shutdown.
During the second part of the mission, you will be walking inside the forerunner structure by moving between large pylons. In the first area, the objective marker will indicate to move right. There is a pylon that branches off to the left where the terminal is located around its circular base.
5G  Justice Halo 4: Activate Terminal 6 on Composer.
When you get ‘outside’ and the Composer is in front of you, run to your right. You will see a small tunnel in the ground/asteroid. Inside that small tunnel is the terminal.
5G  Cryptum Halo 4: Activate Terminal 7 on Midnight.
After you fly into the composer, you will be on foot and move from room to room killing Knights and Watchers. In the center of the rooms are weapon caches; however, in the third room, the terminal is there instead of a weapon cache.
20G Terminus Halo 4: Activate all Halo 4 Terminals.
Get all of the above terminals…

5G  Digging up the Past Halo 4: Access the Master Chief’s records on Dawn.
Tetra’s take: Immediately after you awake from cryo-sleep, there will be a hidden ramp to your right. Descend the ramps and you find a console that has Master’s Chief’s records.

10G This is my Rifle, This is my Gun Halo 4: Carry a UNSC weapon all the way through Forerunner on Heroic or Legendary.
This may seem tough when you’re low on ammo. Just keep switching out only ONE of your weapons and keep the other UNSC weapon, even if it’s run out of ammo. This is easier with co-op. The weapon you use to kill can be any kind of weapon, so pick up Covenant/Forerunner and keep going. Just don’t swap out that secondary UNSC weapon.

10G Bros to the Close Halo 4: Complete Infinity without one preventable Marine death on Heroic or Legendary.
Tetra’s take: After you meet with Lt. Lasky, you and a squad a Marines will push through the jungle. Sprint ahead and draw the majority of the fire onto you. Kill crawlers first and then knights if watchers aren’t present. There will be three total groups of Marines: the initial group, the barricade group, and then the door group. When you are at the door, the Marines should go and mount on the chainguns. Once their ready, put Cortana in the console to open the door. This achievement is easier with Co-op Partners.

10G Mortardom Halo 4: On Reclaimer, use a Wraith to kill at least four enemy Wraiths on Heroic or Legendary.
Tetra has a take on this and I have another. Here’s Tetra’s first: The first wraith you encounter is when you are trying to recover the target locator from the crashed pelican. Lower the health low enough so the hatch blasts off and you can kill the driver. Use this wraith to kill the next wraith where the shield domes are. Continue on and the Mammoth will stop so you can take out the enemy ship. During this part two wraiths will spawn, if you kill both, great but try to kill at least one. Later in the mission, after meeting with the Librarian, you’ll meet back with Marines and three wraiths will spawn. Hi-jack one of them to take out the other two.
HFFL: Mine starts out the same. However, you CAN actually cross those rivers with a Wraith. I know as I’ve personally done it. Continue on with your Wraith and take out any others you need to get the achievement. It might take some practice to get across the river, so revert to checkpoint if you die.

10G Explore the Floor Halo 4: Trick or force a Hunter to fall to its demise on Shutdown.
This may sound tricky but really isn’t. When you come upon the two Hunters just before you take a grav lift, you simply need to stand as close to the edge as possible. Let a Hunter rush you and jump over/away from it. It’s momentum should take it over the edge. If not, just keep trying.

10G Give Him the Stick Halo 4: Take out both Hunters using only the Sticky Detonator on Composer.
This is also pretty easy since there are several sticky detonators along the way and a couple in the room where the Hunters are. Doing this on Easy makes it well…easy.

10G Chief, Smash! Halo 4: Kill 3 Crawlers in one hit with the Gravity Hammer on Midnight.
There is a room filled with different weaponry before you get to the Crawler area. You can’t miss this room as you’re teleported to it. Pick up the Gravity Hammer. When the crawlers start to come across a bridge in the next area, they will jump up to the platform you are on. Make sure there are three in the air, just before they get to you, swing batts batta. And BAM, achievement unlocked. If you don’t get 3 kills in one swing, simply revert to last checkpoint and try again.

5G You’re No Chips Halo 4: What do Marines know about sticks?

The next 9 are for Par Time. I’ll update these when I find out what those are. Speed Run is your friend here.
10G Piece of Cake* Halo 4: Beat the par time on Dawn.
10G Interloper* Halo 4: Beat the par time on Requiem.
10G Raging in the Dark* Halo 4: Beat the par time on Forerunner.
10G Ouroboros* Halo 4: Beat the par time on Infinity.

10G Symphony of Pain* Halo 4: Beat the par time on Composer.
10G Countdown* Halo 4: Beat the par time on Midnight.
20G Easy As One Two Three* Halo 4: Beat par time on all Halo 4 levels.

The next 9 are for Par Score. I’ll update these when I find out what those are.
10G Gunslinger* Halo 4: Beat the par score on Dawn.
10G Dark Fortress* Halo 4: Beat the par score on Requiem.
10G Shadow of Sundered Star* Halo 4: Beat the par score on Forerunner.

10G Head Banging* Halo 4: Beat the par score on Composer.
10G Witching Hour* Halo 4: Beat the par score on Midnight.
20G You Had it Coming* Halo 4: Beat the par score on every Halo 4 level.

5G A Long Time Ago Halo 4: Play a game of Halo 4 on the 6th of any month.
Simple enough here…

Playlist achievements again. And like the others, I’ll be passing up the LASO ones…
30G Naked Tyrant Halo 4: Complete the Halo 4 LASO Campaign playlist.
20G Devotee Halo 4: Complete three Halo 4 playlists.
10G Chest of Gold Halo 4: Complete a Halo 4 playlist.

I hope this helps you on your goal to becoming a Halo Achievement Master!
