Halo Master Chief Collection Achievement Guideline – Part 6: Those NEW last 50 Achievements

This is the sixth (and likely final) of this series of articles for the achievements of the Halo Master Chief Collection. If there are more revealed at a later date, of course I’ll make a simple guide to those as well. At the bottom will be links for the other parts to this simple guide.

HFFL Community Friend ‘Tetrahedrite’ wrote up his own guideline and shared it with me. We talk and agreed to share in this guide. I’ll do my best to make mention of his specific contributions.

So let’s take a look at part 6 of the guide:

Custom games & misc.

5 GS Game Master: Created and saved 5 Custom Game types.
This is self explanatory. Tetra’s take: Under the Custom Game Category, you can select a specific gametype. Select one and go into the gametypes options by pressing ‘X’. Edit the settings and when finished press the ‘Y’ to open the file options and select save. You can do this quickly by making 5 random gametypes, or create them as you play over time with friends and when forging.
5 GS Master Forger: Created and saved 5 Custom Maps in Forge.
Another very easy achievement. I wrote something similar to Tetra on this one, so I’ll take point on this. All you need do is choose any map. You do NOT need to place anything. Just ‘save as’ and make the name different. Heck call it ‘map 1’. Then do another save as 4 more times. Each time change the name of the map. ‘map 2’ ‘map 3’ ‘map 4’ ‘map 5’. That’s it…
10 GS Bite the Hand: Kill a 343 developer in matchmaking or someone who has this achievement.
Tetra did a good write up for this one, so I”ll defer to his take on this: This is a Viral Achievement. If you’re lucky enough to get matched into a game with a 343 developer, you’ll earn it upon killing them. However, you’ll more than likely earn this randomly by killing a player who already has this achievement. You can earn this in any game’s multiplayer.

Halo: CE

30 GS Goat Roped: Halo CE: Complete all Halo: CE Legendary campaign missions in under 3 hours.
This goes hand in hand with speed running missions. No penalty to level difficulty, so go for this on EASY.

Halo 2

30 GS Monopolized: Halo 2: Complete all Halo 2 Legendary campaign missions in under 3 hours.
This goes hand in hand with speed running missions. No penalty to level difficulty, so go for this on EASY.

10 GS Destination Vacation: Halo 2: View one of the seasonal signs on Zanzibar in classic multiplayer.
Okay this does say in multiplayer so that leads me to believe this has to be in a match made game. Before you go trying to find it during a firefight, look for it in forge. You’ll have to use the Halo 2 Anniversary version of the map ‘Stonetown’. Unless 343 changed that, it should still be there. Go and find it at your leisure. Then when you get into matchmaking on Zanzibar, simple go to the same place and view it.
5 GS Why So Serious: Halo 2: View the smiling face in the classic multiplayer map Coagulation.
It’s on a rock folks….
5 GS Why Am I Here?: Halo 2: View this hidden message on the classic Beaver Creek map.
This is near the bottom of one of the side rock walls. You’ll see the words faintly on the rock “WHY AM I HERE”.
5 GS Animal Habitat: Halo 2: Spot the hippo on the walls of Headlong in classic multiplayer.
In the ‘Yellow” building, you’ll find a drawing of the hippo.
5 GS Sid Graffiti: Halo 2: Spot the Sid graffiti on the walls of Coagulation in classic multiplayer.
Another faintly marked expression. You’ll find this in the cave. It’s on the wall of the archway between the rock room and the lower water lined room.

Halo 2: Anniversary

These next eight are self explanatory. Just do what the achievement says.
10 GS
 Invaders Repelled:
Halo 2: Anniversary MP: In King of the Hill, kill 5 opponents within your controlled hill.
Tetra’s tip: Try concealing yourself as much as you can so you can jump out on your enemy as they approach. Having close-quarter weapons like the Shotgun, Energy Sword, or Gravity Hammer help too. An over-charged plasma pistol followed by a beat down is also effective.
10 GS Triple Threat: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: In Ricochet, pass once, score once, and kill at least one enemy in the same match.
10 GS Bombing Run: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: In Assault, take, plant, and score from the bomb spawn without dying or dropping the bomb.
This one may be tough, so try and go in a game with experience players. At the least if doing this with friends, be certain that you are communicating.
5 GS Cold Fusion: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: Kill an opponent by detonating a Fusion Coil.
Whittle an opponents shield down who is close to a fusion coil. From there, shoot the coil. If the opponent’s shields have popped, the resulting explosion form the fusion coil should kill them.
10 GS Counter-Sniped: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: With a Sniper Rifle or Beam Rifle kill an enemy that was zoomed in.
Best done in Team Snipers. Otherwise, go into a Big Team Battle map as those are the most likely to have snipers. Find your opponent sniper and tag him!
10 GS Eminent Domain: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: In Territories, control any 3 Territories simultaneously for 30 seconds.
This is another that will require team work. If you’re not so skilled at Halo, this one could take you awhile to get. Might I suggest for those not so skilled to not try for this right away. Give multiplayer some time, then go to the playlist and try it out.
10 GS Stayin’ Alive: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: In Juggernaut, survive as the Juggernaut for 30 seconds.
10 GS Top Gungoose: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: Get a kill with the Gungoose while airborne.
It is self explanatory, but it might be harder done than said. Get some air in a gun goose and while in mid-air, kill someone with it! This has to be done in matchmaking…

The next seven deal with finding and destroying a can of BLAST soda on each respective map, with the last finding all of them.
5 GS Bloody Thirsty!: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: Found and destroyed the BLAST soda can on Bloodline.
5 GS Thirst Locked Down!: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: Found and destroyed the BLAST soda can on Lockdown.
5 GS Rule Your Thirst!: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: Found and destroyed the BLAST soda can on Warlord.
5 GS High Altitude Thirst!: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: Found and destroyed the BLAST soda can on Zenith.
5 GS Worship Your Thirst!: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: Found and destroyed the BLAST soda can on Shrine.
5 GS Gate Your Thirst!: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: Found and destroyed the BLAST soda can on Stonetown.
15 GS BLASTacular!: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: Destroyed all the Halo 2 Anniversary Multiplayer BLAST soda cans.

The next four are self explanatory.
10 GS The Goose is Loose: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: Get 25 kills with the Gungoose in multiplayer.
10 GS Shook the Hornet’s Nest: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: Get 30 kills with the Hornet in multiplayer.
10 GS Skeet Shooter: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: Killed 15 opponents that were airborne from a Man Cannon.
Kill them while their in mid-air. There are Man Cannons on several H2A maps, so look for those then kill any opponent who uses them.
10 GS Red vs Blue: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: Win 10 matches on Bloodline in multiplayer.

10 GS Cold as Ice: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: On Lockdown, kill an opponent with the hanging ice
Any of the hang in stalactites can be shot down. There are three on the map. One above BR tower, one over the center of the map and one over Sniper Tower. Wait for an opponent to be under one and rain that icicle down on them!

10 GS Power Play: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: On Warlord, get 5 center power ups that become available in a single game.
This is about map control and team work, plain and simple. Get the timing down for the power up spawn and nab it.

10 GS Shields Up!: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: On Zenith, personally activate the center energy shield 3 times in one match made game.
There are a few locations to do this from. This achievement should come to you in time.

5 GS Wetwork: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: On Shrine in CTF, activate the enemy base waterfall and, before it stops, grab the flag.
This could be a little difficult to get. Be sure you’re close to the enemy base as you’ll need to grab that flag quick. Shoot the button that triggers the waterfall then grab away. If you can go into a match with a party of 8, (you and 7 friends), then everyone just trade off on doing this.

5 GS MVP: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: Finished as the top player on your team in a match made game.
This should come to you in time. Here’s Tetra’s tip for this: You will need to have the highest Kill/Death ratio on your team. If you’re having trouble on your own skill, coordinate with teammates to lower enemy shields and you finish the kill from a distance. To lower your deaths as well. Don’t be as aggressive and hang back while your teammates are targeted. With a score to 50, you will most likely need to earn between 12-20+ kills with a low death tally.

10 GS Grand Theft Halo: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: In one match, steal a total of 5 occupied vehicles from opponents.
Hmm, okay, you’re going to need to practice jacking vehicles from opponents. Five in one match is NOT easy. Best done on Bloodline or Stonetown as those are loaded with vehicles.

10 GS Tour of Duty: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: Complete a game in every one of the 6 updated Anniversary MP maps.
Self explanatory.

10 GS Double Down: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: In Anniversary multiplayer, receive 2 or more Double Kill medals.
You can do this MANY ways. Rockets are your friend here for sure. Nading a group of enemies too. Quick kills can nab this also. This should come to you in time.

10 GS Warden: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: In Anniversary matchmaking, stop the killing spree of another player.
Another one that should come to you in time.

10 GS Blown Out of the Sky: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: Blow up the Banshee or Hornet in flight while piloted, with the Rocket Launcher.
Rockets can target vehicles in H2A. The Hornet is on Bloodline. If you’re on your base and have rockets, stick close to the EMP switch. Hit that when the Hornet gets close then destroy them with your rockets. The Banshee is on Zenith. This will be tougher than the Hornet as it can dodge better than a Hornet can.

10 GS Decorated Warrior: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: Get awarded at least 10 different medals in one non-team multiplayer game.
Non-team = Rumble Pit or FFA. There will be a playlist for this at launch. Multikills are you friend here. Watch for a group of enemies close together then made the heck out of them!

10 GS Ninja Redux: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: Kill 5 people with melee from behind in Anniversary matchmaking.
Here’s Tetra’s tip followed by mine: Sneaking around by crouching, or hiding behind walls and cover can allow you to watch an enemy walk past you, allowing you to quickly follow them and hit them in the back. Also, while a player is zoomed in on the sniper rifle or BR, they will not see you walking up on their radar, allowing you to sneak behind as well. This is 5 cumulative kills and do not need to be earned in the same match.
HFFL: Beyond what Tetra said, when Grifball becomes a playlist and you can bet it will, spawn killing opponents will net you this achievement easily. Dirty tactics? Maybe, but it’s effective.

10 GS Flaming Ninja Anniversary: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: Kill an opponent that has the Ninja Redux achievement in Anniversary matchmaking.
So along with what I mentioned…you won’t know if they have it or not. But if you’re playing Grifball and an opponent has been spawn killing you, go after them relentlessly!

10 GS Legend Slayer: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: Kill an opponent that has the Legendary Anniversary achievement.
This is another one of those achievements that’s easier to get as time goes on. More and more players will get this in the coming months, so while you may luck out early and get it, son’t be surprised if it takes a little time. It’s not hard to get though.

10 GS Zealot: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: Win 10 multiplayer games as an Elite.
Self explanatory.

10 GS Put Up Your Dukes: Halo 2: Anniversary MP: Get 25 melee kills in multiplayer.
Self explanatory. Again, when Grifball becomes a playlist, go there. Grav Hammer and Energy Sword kills count as melee kills. Otherwise, punch away!

Halo 3

30 GS Devastating: Halo 3: Complete all Halo 3 Legendary campaign missions in under 3 hours.
Do this on EASY. It can be done. Speed running is your friend here.

5 GS Man on the Moon: Halo 3: He’s watching you.
Find this by looking at the moon on the map ‘Standoff’. You might need to zoom in for this.

5 GS Hippo Hero: Halo 3: Who DARED to discard this brave animal?
I think this is the same as the other Hippo achievement. I’ll update this later if it isn’t.

10 GS Elder Signs: Halo 3: View 2 different sigils on Valhalla.
You will find these typically on the large wall in Valhalla. If they aren’t on the wall, then look on the outside of the bases. Below are the dates you can find these (along with pics of each one):
January 1st: Make Love Not War
ValhallaEE01-01NewYear
April 22nd: A skull with a recycling sign.
ValhallaEE22-04EarthDay

November 11th: Kilroy Was Here.

December 25th: A Christmas light with an X on it.
ValhallaEE25-12Christmas

Halo 4

30 GS You’re Joking: Halo 4: Complete all Halo 4 Legendary campaign missions in under 3 hours.
Do this on EASY. It can be done. Speed running is your friend here.

I hope this helps you on your goal to becoming a Halo Achievement Master!
