And on with the pics! (Click pics to make BIGGER)
As always, the packaging looks nice.
The card itself has a nice pic on it.
Here are the contents of the package. The buildable gun and Police Shield.Above shows how and where the gun and shield attach to the cyclops. The cyclops is finished also showing the officer in the cockpit. The back of this Cyclops doesn’t have some of the pieces that the others do. That doesn’t take away form the set at all though.Above again shows the cockpit, just closer up. The officer fits in and gently fits on to the seat peg. The shotgun can fit inside as well. And the right most pic shows the officer within. This police officer differs form the one with the Hornet in that it’s shirt is black and pants are brown, whereas the one form the hornet has blue-grey shirt and pants.
And the set in an action pose.
Summary: The set is a quick build. The base pieces of the cyclops are the same as all of the ones before it.
Overall Rating: I give this set 8.5 out for 10 medals. This set has okay value. At $15, it’s a little high. The figure accounts for at most $3.50. The cyclops and it’s attachments aren’t worth the $11.50 left over. I feel this and 5 of the other ones (that came in the same style packaging) should have been $10 sets. The piece count just doesn’t justify the cost. Considering that these molds have been used for seven different sets now, I think it’s safe to say Mega has made it’s money back on them and then some.
So why did I give this a 8.5 instead of a 10?
• I’d have preferred a second weapon as well for the officer. A magnum would have worked just fine and would have been virtually no additional cost to include.
• The shield for the cyclops seems very out of place. It’s already armored. If the shield is really for the officer, then there should be another attachable accessory for the cyclops itself. Another weapon OR a grapple to hold criminals with.
Do I recommend it? Yes. If you like the NMPD series of Halo Mega Bloks, then this is a must have. If you like the Cyclops sets, then this is also a must have. The printed on decals and blue and red “lights” give this cyclops a little more character than 5 of the previous versions (the black and yellow one being the other with some character to it).
It took me a long while to find this at retail. This marks the seventh version of the cyclops with the green, tan, white, steel, black and yellow, and orange and green versions coming before it. At this point, if the cyclops is made anymore, I would only want to see Red and Blue team versions, then I hope the mold is retired. For a vehicle that is barely represented in Halo, this has more versions of it than some of the much more popular vehicles.
As a toy it’s fine. However, since this is a collector brand, geared toward collectors/gamers, well, I think it’s about time we close the book on the cyclops.

It would be cool to see the cyclops in the new articulation. Also nice review. I like the color on this one.
Yeah, I do wish there was better articulation of the cyclops.
Great review as always Sal!
I haven’t seen this set at retail myself, and i’m really not all that excited for it either. But it looks like a nice little set, and is the cheapest way to get an NMPD officer (until series bravo comes out that is).
