Custom painted Halo Mega Bloks Drone figure

As you might have seen just a few days ago, I reviewed the Halo Mega Bloks Covenant Drone set. This set includes the first ever produced by Mega Bloks, Covenant Drone (Yanme’e) minifigure.

While I like the figure a lot, I really wanted some more detail to it. So I took it upon myself to do just that.

First, here’s a pic of the in-game Drone:Drone_H3_sm

Next the figure as it was originally in the set:MB Drone Outbreak minifig drone

And my final custom paint job to it: Revised Drone w-insert HFFL

I think you can see for yourself, it’s a big improvement over the stock Mega Brands figure.

For the black lines I used a paint pen. The cyan on the top tan wings was with a tiny paint brush and the purple was applied as a diluted wash of paint over the wings to keep the transparency, as you can see by the insert pic.

I think it turned out pretty good.

What do you folks think?

  1. Ah. I saw this on spartanbloks yesterday, but looks as if you finished the wings.

    Looks great!

  2. Looks better but I think the black stands out a bit too much. Nevertheless, it still looks good!
