It’s been quite awhile since we last had a wave of Halo figures from McFarlane Toys. Well, the wait is soon over!

Not only are we getting Spartan Thorne from Fireteam Majestic, Commander Sarah Palmer, and Jul ‘Mdama, we’re also getting a fourth figure, not previously shown. This fourth figure will be an exclusive to Walgreen’s. The figures is a Red Spartan Soldier (Halo 4 armor) with White secondary color.

Without further ado, let’s get to the official pics from McFarlane. (Click on pics to make bigger)

The text blurbs after each initial shot of the figures is directly from McFarlane’s web site.

First up, Spartan Gabriel Thorne from Fireteam Majestic.

Spartan Thorne’s steely courage and tactical awareness in the USNC Army allowed him entry into the SPARTAN-IV program—a recruitment deployment that would save his life during the Didact’s assault on New Phoenix. Equipped in standard Recruit Armor and armed with an Assault Rifle; this new Spartan is ready explore the mysteries of the Forerunner Shield World Requiem.

The packaging gets a nice refresh for this series. It allows for the figure to be the primary focus, instead of the package’s artwork.

The detailing on Thorne looks pretty good. Nice weathering effects.
I hope McFarlane makes the rest of Fireteam Majestic. I’d love to have the full squad represented in action figure form.

Next up, Spartan Commander, Sarah Palmer

The commander of the Spartans aboard the UNSC Infinity, Commander Palmer is released for the first time with her trademark Spartan Armor in Steel/Red colors. This key authority figure is instantly recognizable from the Halo 4 Campaign and multiplayer Spartan Ops. The deadly leader comes equipped with two Magnum Pistols, her weapons of choice.

Excellent weathering on this figure as well. From the packaged view, something seems slightly off at the hips. Either that or the chest armor should be bigger. Still, it’s a great representation of Palmer. I’ll gladly add her to my collection.

Now we come to the long awaited Jul ‘Mdama.

Jul ‘Mdama was once a loyal commander within the Covenant, but his malcontent with the truce to end the war eventually led him to rebuild the Covenant in an effort to seek out the ancient Forerunner known as the Didact and crush what was left of the humans. During the Halo 4Campaign and Spartan Ops, this merciless leader is adorned in Blue Zealot Armor with a holographic symbol on his helmet denoting leadership. This extremist Shangheili figure comes with the redesigned, Halo 4 version of the Energy Sword.

Whew, he takes up the whole bubble blister. Okay, so I’ve already read elsewhere that some are disappointed with the skin color and armor color of Jul.

I can say for sure that he is paler in skin color than previous Elites. See below:

This is how he’s depicted in cut scenes from Spartan Ops. Clearly he is paler in color. As for the armor, it’s not too far off. In fact, I like it darker. 343 had originally said his armor was black. In the cut scenes from Spartan Ops it can slightly vary from that to dark blue.

Jul is even depicted as such in the Halo Escalation comic:

As you can see here, he’s quite pale.

I’m happy with how Jul turned out in McFarlane form.

Lastly is the exclusive Spartan Soldier.

One of the most popular armor types on the Halo 4battlefield, the Spartan Soldier is coming back to score the winning kill! For the first time ever, this Spartan is outfitted in Brick Red armor and secondary White accents! This Spartan Soldier figure is equipped with the versatile Battle Rifle and ready for the next firefight!

This is a great looking figure. The secondary color really helps to make this figure pop. Now, I’ve read jokingly elsewhere that the color is because it’s a Canadian Spartan or a Spartan Medic. While I don’t know if there is any truth to either of those (and I’d be totally fine if either/both were the case), it’s still very well done.

Look for these to release sometime THIS MONTH!!!

Now, I just wish they’d come out with Lasky as they had shown from previous series. I prefer campaign figures and he’s tops on my list of wants from Halo 4.
