It’s been awhile since McFarlane Toys brought out any new Halo action figures. Finally, the wait is just about over. Any day now four of these awesome figs will be dropping into retail shelves near you! Beyond Halo 4, series 3, we will also be getting Master Chief and Spartan Locke later this year. AND for the first time ever, McFarlane will be making a 10 inch Halo figure. Once again it’s Locke and WOW does it look amazing!

This was one of the booths I was excited to see at Toy Fair. But enough of me talking, on with the pics!!

Jul ‘Mdama, the new Covenant baddie introduced in Halo 4’s Spartan Ops is being made into action figure form. The figure looks great. I’m happy that McFarlane made a translucent piece for the top of Jul’s helmet. Lots of detail in this figure.
McF Jul side
I know some are going to balk at the skin color of Jul. However, if you check out the cut scenes form Spartan Ops, he is indeed paler than the normal elite.McF Jul front
VERY happy to have Spartan Thorne in the ranks of McF action figures. I’d love to see the rest of Fireteam Majestic, however, I think that ship has sailed. Sigh… What could have been.
McF Thorne front

Here are Jul and Thorne together. Jul really towers over Thorne.McF Jul-Thorne

Next up is everyone’s favorite/not favorite Spartan Commander, Sarah Palmer. The figure looks great, except for one point. The hips seem a little off. In the game, her torso armor seems to be much bigger in the cut scenes. Meh, no matter, I’m still going to get this figure.
McF Palmer front
The Red and White Spartan Soldier is an exclusive to Walgreens. Now, before you wonder why this color scheme, it’s simple, Todd McFarlane is Canadian. This color scheme is an homage to his home country’s flag.McF Spartan Soldier front

Now for what I was really looking forward to. Spartan Locke!McF Locke
Above and below show you Locke in action figure form. Apologies for some of the reflections as this was behind glass. The detail is great and just check out the blue on the armor. Hmm, new lights for Spartan armor???
McF Locke2

Last but DEFINTELY not least, Locke is getting a special treatment as the first in what I hope is a series of 10 inch Halo figures from McFarlane Toys. This version of Locke Towers over the other figures. Here you see him with the 5 inch Master Chief.
McF 10in Locke wMC
Here he is with his smaller 5 inch self. I couldn’t get a price on this bad boy, but I’m going to make a guess at $30 as his size is close to what the Didact figure from last year is.McF 10in Locke wLocke
and all three to be released September this year.McF 10in Locke wMC-Locke

Finally, here I am waiting as patiently as possible to meet the man himself, Todd McFarlane.Me and McF

You know, I think we have got some good clues so far as to some of the characters coming in Halo 5.

With both Mega Bloks AND McFarlane making Palmer and Thorne, I’m going to make a guess that those two become part of Spartan Locke’s team. The Spartan that comes with the Mega Bloks Vulture is a Recruit with a green visor. That visor matches up with one of the spartans seen in the cut scene from Halo 2. Being that it’s recruit makes me think it’s Thorne. I have another theory for Palmer that I’ll get to later.

So are you excited for these figures? I know I am. It’s a bummer we haven’t had new ones for awhile. So to see that we’ll have two series this year, however small, is very welcomed.

  1. I dont think its thorne or palmer -sal. My reason is because why would osman put throne, leader of majestic, and palmer commander of spartan 4 and failed assassin of oni’s number 1 outlaw, into a oni section 3 spartan team. Yet again why would oni not put those two in lockes team. There prob one of the best spartans in this time period, other than chief and blue team. I think macer is part of lockes heam

    • Palmer has the most experience of any Spartan IV, not to mention she has the confidence of Osman, even though she has so far failed in her mission to kill Halsey. Thorne has proven himself to be a leader and great Spartan. This makes him an excellent candidate to be on Locke’s team as well. And yes, I too believe that Macer is going to be the other one on Locke’s Spartan team.

      • I just want Lockes team to be new. Keep Palmer and Thorne where they are at. I do want Macer to be on his team. That would be pretty cool.

  2. I hope that Palmer is not part of Locke’s team, I could not stand her in Halo 4!

    • Me either. However, hopefully by the time the game comes out, her character will be better developed through the Halo Escalation comic book.

  3. Man, I don’t collect mc(c)farlane but that 10 in. Locke figure looks really nice!
