  1. The moment I saw the release trailer, I bought the bundle! This game is really fun!

  2. I never played Spartan Assault, but I did watch the cutscenes on youtube. So i’m interested in the story of this one too.

I’ll be looking forward to the review!

  3. The Achievement part makes sense because if you play on Steam, iPhone, or iPad, 343i cannot verify your progress as it is not connected to your Xbox account. If you play on Windows or Windows Phone, the game is tied to your Microsoft/Xbox account.

    • I only agree in part there. But with today’s tech and net connections, I think it’s just an excuse to not have to give achievements to iOS users. Since I’m able to connect apps with all sorts of outside sources and those games are able to be tracked, I see this as being no different. The ability to do so is out there. It’s a matter of, did 343/MS want to do it.

      • True. I’m sure it’s possible to find a way to track Achievements on iPhone, iPad, and Steam (as a matter of fact, a lot of games on Steam have Steam Achievements; basically the same as Xbox Achievements but for Steam). However, that would take time, money, and effort so 343i probably didn’t want to do it. And don’t forget that Apple and (somewhat) Valve are competitors to Microsoft.

      • That’s my point Wilson. If they had time to make Strike portable to iOS, then why not do it fully and have chives trackable? Yes, Apple is a direct competitor, yet they decided to port the app over. They want to take our money, but not give the full experience. It’s like being punished for using iOS as opposed to a Windows phone. As for this coming to XBOX, well, IF it happens, it won’t be for a long time. A little ONI intel there…

  4. I hope this is the last game they make in this style. I had hoped they had changed the music and stuff like that a bit more, so it isnt as much a copy and paste from spartan assault. from the footage i saw the missions look fantastic.

If i had a windows phone i would get this without hesitating, but probably wont buy it if it ever comes to xbox. Spartan Assault just didnt seem fun for me. I would much rather another halo wars strategy game. I spent soo many hours just messing arround in that game. So fun.

    Looking forward to the reviews

    • Strangely enough, I have the music all the way down when I play either Spartan Assault or Strike. Music in games can distract me. When given the option, I turn it off or way down. While I love the music of Halo, I wish I had the option to turn the music down or off in Campaign.
I do agree with wanting another Halo Wars game. However, I’m happy to have this one in the mix as well. I’ve played it about halfway through already and am quite enjoying it.

      • Oh?, i would turn off music if i were in a party chat, but if its just me i find the music gives the gameplay a certain edge. And makes moments memorable. more so in the original trilogy than halo 4.

  5. I’m enjoying it on my windows phone. I’m glad they released it on other platforms,if it sells well it will give them a reason to continue high quality mobile Halo games. I’ve only had time to play a couple of levels, my only problem is getting the grenades to go where I want

    • I’m finding it a lot easier in Strike than Assault to toss grenades in the direction you want them to go. My problem is melee. I try to do that and sometimes it works, other times I accidentally throw a grenade… I’m getting better at it though.
