Halo Fleet Battles: a closer look a what comes in the set

While I reported on this when we first heard about it a couple of months ago, there has been yet more information that has been revealed. I’m happy to share that with you.

Halo Fleet Battles is a ‘minis’ game. If you’re unfamiliar with what that is, basically its a game in which you have battles between miniature versions of character5s or ships or both. I used to collect Star Wars ones years ago and have played minis for a LONG time. Like back in the Battletech days of the mid ’80s…

Anyway, these were revealed at the Salute Con in England. As you can see by the graphic above, the first batch will release this summer, with more to follow next summer.

Coming this summer is the ‘The Fall of Reach’ set. It has 49 mini plastic models, a guide, dice, rulebook and even some scenery. The set will cost you $140 US (price may vary per country.)

Halo: Fleet Battles delivers an easy to learn, lore-infused, tactically-rich gaming experience that appeals both to experienced wargamers and fans of the Halo Universe.

Additionally, my friends at thessmotion passed along the following pics from the convention in England, via their friend Steve Thomas. Thank fellas!

Oh, before I forget to mention, the actual pieces are unpainted/unassembled, so you’re going to have to do that yourselves, should you get the set.

Look at the gorgeous detail of these new Covie ships!11136982_10153277645923817_637521367_n11186458_10153277645903817_1896847353_n11195332_10153277645953817_1842890273_n11198533_10153277646053817_677572336_n

Not to be outdone, the detail on the UNSC ship is fantastic!11198565_10153277645883817_863783156_n11198915_10153277646118817_1835236895_n

I have to say, those ships look fantastic! The only issue is that ours won’t look like that. But I have some ideas for this set if I’m ever lucky enough to get it.

Next summer, Spartan Games (convenient coincidence, huh) will follow up this summer’s space set with a ground forces set. Below are some shots of that.11119071_10153277646593817_2000163368_n11173613_10153277646563817_785745522_n11137005_10153277646503817_1213854552_n11166059_10153277646633817_2051405740_n11173542_10153277646533817_1881792457_n

Now I’m unclear about these next two. I think they were something special for the Con only, but don’t quote me on that as I’m not sure. When I get the true word on this, I”ll post it here in the article.11198395_10153277652818817_641425142_n11119076_10153277652903817_641022990_nLovin’ that Elite!

So what say you? Will you folks get the set?

Were I able to get this set, I’d need people to play the game with me. I wouldn’t want to just have it sitting on a shelf collecting dust. (Hey local friends and readers, that’s a hint….)

  1. Those ships are so cool! That sangheili shipmaster bust is freaking terrific looking!

But, alas, I don’t have that kind of money. Oh well, maybe it will go on sale sometime………

      • Maybe, but would they include all of the ships from the main set? And usually booster packs in the long run become more expensive than the initial set.

  2. Yeah I don’t have the money or the people needed to play this.

It sure does look neat, albeit a little complicated.
