Toy Review: McFarlane Halo 4 series 3 Spartan Thorne

Well, it’s been some time since I’ve been able to post a McFarlane Halo figure toy review. Not because I didn’t want to, but because it’s been a long time since a new series has been released. Now I can finally get some more of these in with Series 3 making it to retail.

The packaging is quite nice. I like the slim packaging as opposed to the wider ones from series past. For those who collect these carded, it will take up less space for sure, whether you display them or store them.

The back of the card is the same on all 4 of the figures with this wave of figs. If you carefully remove the plastic bubble, you are greeted with a shot from Haven.McF Thorne package

Orthogonal views of Thorne. Make note that the shoulder pads are indeed different. There is some really nice detailing on the fig too!McF Thorne ortho

An Assault Rifle with attaching peg is included.McF Thorne AR-peg

As you can see in this series of shots, there is a hole in the back for the peg. Insert it there, then place the AR as shown.McF Thorne peg attachment

The articulation is standard, that is to say excellent! You can get the figure into many different poses.McF Thorne action pose 1McF Thorne action pose 2

Yep, you can make this pose too. Though it will take a little patience and balancing properly.McF Thorne action pose 3

I absolutely recommend this figure. We haven’t had many from Halo 4 and I personally like the character of Thorne. So this was an easy call for me to buy it.

This gets a 9.75 out of 10 from me. It can be a little frustrating to get into certain poses. Other than that, this is a SOLID figure by McFarlane Toys.

Price for this ranges between $14-17 depending on where you get it from. I got mine from GameStop.
