And finally here are all of the 6 together. Of course you can mix and match as you see fit. That’s why it’s a customizer set. And yes, I did get 3 sets of these so that I could have each main version of Spartan. HUGE thanks to my wife for getting these for me!MB Spartan CUST ortho 6 variants

Summary: The set needs virtually no building. It’s simply a figure set with armor pieces. And that’s a good thing!

Overall Rating: I give this set 9.5 out for 10 medals. This set has excellent value. At $8 you get 2 figures which already account for $6-7 of the set. The two crates count for 50 cents, roughly. So that leaves you with the four other armor sets (two in each color). Those clearly make up any difference for the final retail (U.S.) price.

So why did I give this a 9.5 instead of a 10?
• The only thing that I don’t like with these kinds of sets is that there aren’t enough base spartan bodies. So someone like me who wants to have one of each kind is forced to buy 3 sets. Of course having another 2 base bodies to customize would drive up the price. OR, you can get the Fireteam Venom set for the lime green spartan, spend about as much for those two extra sets and have more spartans, weapons, accessories, and a small set of pieces to make a battle scene. That’s if you can still find it. The same goes for Crimson. Buy the Fireteam Crimson set and you can do the same as I explain for the Venom/Lime green spartans.

That’s the route I would have gone, had my local store had those two fire team sets in stock at the time.

Other than that, this set is a solid buy, especially if you like those colors. Lime Green is my second favorite color and red is my first. Crimson is close enough in this case, so this was a WIN WIN for me, regarding the color choices. It’s like Mega knew that or something…LOL

Do I recommend it?  Yes! As a way to build up your spartan ranks, in those colors,  this set makes it easy for you to do. The choices of spartan armor are pretty good too. The Soldier armor set is a good choice. So too is recruit. Orbital, Aviator, and Oceanic are slightly hard to get, so they are excellent choices as well for the extra armor sets.

  1. Great review Sal!

I really like that soldier armor, as its chestplate is my favorite chestplate in Halo 4.

Man, I can’t wait ’till I get my hands on the Sangheili version of these!
