Episode 9: Phantoms!

HFFL: Well well well… So the truth is completely out now. Where does this go? With Fero placing Giraud under her protection and the not so cryptic message that the Revolution had begun and that he was the spark, does this mean a new war between the inner and outer colonies was going to begin?

Is this New Colonial Alliance Group the name for the current faction of Insurrectionists? And…have we been wrong about the indies all along? They wanted their independence from the inner colonies. Now seeing that outer colony children were not only used for experimentation but kidnapped, brutally ‘tortured’ in the sense of abhorrent medical procedures, in which half of the kids died from or were so malformed that they could not continue as healthy humans, how can we see this as anything but criminal? Yes, the eventual outcome was the salvation of humanity. But for those families of those taken, for the clones who lived painful and extremely short lives, and especially for those children who never got the chance at a normal life, beyond their first six years, the UNSC, more specifically ONI, MUST answer for these crimes against humanity. Against the outer colonies, against the families, against the eventual Spartans!

I don’t know about you folks, but my mind set towards Halsey has changed quite dramatically.

Again, yes, her actions and the Spartan II program saved humanity in the face of an overwhelming alien invasion. It would have saved trillions of lives during the Insurrectionist war even if the Covenant hadn’t ever arrived. but at what cost?

I’ve seen and read people’s thoughts on Halsey being akin to Joseph Megele, the Nazi doctor who performed heinous acts on Jewish captives in the concentration camps of World War II. I had dismissed those prior to now. But now… I’m not so sure I’m ready to dismiss those accusations.

Halsey believes she was doing what was in the best interest of humanity. The same can nearly be said for the maniacal Hitler. he too thought he w as doing the right thing, in fact as far as saying he was doing ‘God’s work’.

Is Halsey as delusional as Hitler or as evil as Mengele? If we’re going by numbers only, no. She only worked with 150 children. But the acts themselves? Experimentation on children? Half of which dies or were malformed. Creating super soldiers to kill other humans. Well, those are things tat were spun differently in years past as positive for the sake of humanity within the Halo universe. They are not, regardless of the outcome.

NOW, I finally see what 343 has been trying to get at. Their seemingly hatred towards Halsey is in reality a rebelling of the story from a more moral standpoint, than just the facts or story from the UNSC, again, more specifically, ONI.

Giraud has a bounty on his head, to be sure. But where does this really put the state of humanity with these revelations? Certainly we are on the cusp of another civil war. But how does Chief play into this now? And WHY did he interrupt the peace talk and kill seemingly innocent human civilians?

At first I had thought that all of humanity would be against him. But now? After this episode of HUNTtheTRUTH, I can see a clear divisive line between those of the inner and outer colonies. Chief was and still is the savior of all of humanity. Now he means even MORE to the outer colonies. For HE is one of THEM!
