The front package art is really nice. Good action scene. On the back you have a descriptive panel at top right that shows which weapons come with the set.
I like the look of this year’s background design. It’s gritty and darker.
Here are the contents of the box.
The large bag has the following smaller bags and pieces. Of the 4 small bags, 3 of them are for figures, while the 4th has the weapons and a few other pieces for the set.
Here’s all the pieces sorted out. As you can see the figs are built as well.
Building the base is very simple and takes hardly any time.
Here it is done. BTW, this set is virtually identical to Sierra Squad. The two major differences are of course the color of the figures and the white pieces with the base and the reduction of one of the figures with this set. I’ll get to that later in the review.
Here are the weapons and accessories. I could easily fit all of the weapons and the three white backpacks in the crate. This leaving only the com backpack not fitting inside. That’s pretty good! The yellow color seems a bit odd for this set. White would have been better. But I actually like this yellow.
And I can always swap out what crate I use for Victor. I am thinking I’ll use the yellow crate along side those yellow tool walls that came in a few sets. Those match up pretty well. I’ll store extra tools instead of weapons inside this yellow crate then.
Here are the 4 figures included. In the Sierra Squad set, there is another of the large helmeted marines (gold visor). In would have liked to have seen that included with this set. Or if there was going to be one less figure as planned, then take one of the green goggled Marines out and give me 2 of the gold goggled marines instead. Why? Well, the in-game description of these marines is that the gold goggled ones are planet side, while the green goggled ones are ‘space’ marines, even though we see both versions planet side. I’ll get back to the ‘missing’ figure later in the review.
Since two are the same in this set, I’m only showing the 3 versions in the orthogonal views. Again, with exception to the white pieces, these figs are the same as in Sierra. The officer in this set has brown skin whereas the officer in Sierra has pale skin.
And here is the set with figures in place to defend the base!
Summary: The set has a small build time. A good character selection as well as a varied amount of UNSC weapons included.
Overall Rating: I give this set 9.5 out for 10 medals. This set has great value for $15. With the 4 figures amounting $13 of the $15. That leaves $2 to account for the rest of the pieces which is easily made for with the base/turret assembly.
Why did I give it a 9.5 out of 10?
• The only downgrade is that the 5th figure wasn’t included. The value is still quite good. However, since Sierra just came out a couple of months ago and now we have Victor, it feels like we were short changed a little with the 5th figure taken away. Still an excellent set!!
Do I recommend it? Absolutely! This is a good set for army builders. Regardless that it has one less figure than Sierra Squad, the fact that all of the figs included are army building figures makes this a worthwhile buy.

Neat review Sal.
Not much to say about this one, what with it being nearly an identical twin to Sierra.
But I really like the white stands that they come with! Very cool.
