Tweeted not 12 minutes before this article was posted, Marty O’Donnell, former composer for the Halo franchise, under Bunige, has formed a new development studio.
The following is a reblog from an article by gameinformer giving a little more details:
After his termination from and subsequent lawsuit against Bungie, Marty O’Donnell has helped to establish a new development studio.
The name of the studio is Highwire Games, and in addition to O’Dnonnell includes the talent of former Bungie designer Jaime Griesemer and Airtight Games co-founder Jared Noftle. NeoGAF picked up on the news when a fan tweeted a photo of O’Donnell’s new business card, and quickly dug up an additional LinkedIn page and alleged website. O’Donnell has since confirmed the studio and Greisemer and Noftle’s involvement.
No other information is known, but the LinkedIn page for Highwire Games lists the company size as between 1-10 employees, and that it specializes in games, consoles, and virtual reality.
A hearty congratulations to Marty and best wishes for his new development studio. Oh how we wish he was back with Halo. Regardless, we all know he’s going to have an amazing score for the lucky game that is developed in his studio.
