And on with the pics! (Click pics to make BIGGER)
The figure is prominently displayed through the bubble, with the two weapon accessories clearly visible.
You get Chief, an Assault Rifle, Magnum and a REQ pack code. Note this Assault Rifle has a sand color to the top of it, while at the bottom front grip, it’s olive green.
As per usual, each thigh has a hole on it’s side that you can place a weapon on.
There is a hole between the thrusters for stowing larger weapons.
Let’s take a look at some of the poses that Chief can be put it.
Evaluation
Sculpt: Fantastic. But I expect nothing less from McFarlane as they do get the digital files direct from 343 to use for the sculpt. 10 of 10 medals!
Articulation: This figure has some good articulation to it. As mentioned here and with the other H5G s-1 figs, just the hip articulation holds this back from being superb.. You can’t quite get it to pose in some natural human poses. (This has remained consistent through the first of the Halo 5 Guardians figures) 9.5 out of 10 medals
Paint Application: Chief is almost all his normal olive green. Though he has some excellent weathering with silver flecks showing slightly at armor edges. Note here that his torso armor has been fixed and no longer has the plasma burn marks on it that it’s had for a few games now.. 10 of 10 medals.
Accessories: The Assault Rifle has one issue. While the new color scheme is good, the trigger grip area isn’t quite right. Instead of having the index finger separated from the other fingers, it’s also attached as per all the other figs in this series thus far. This means you can’t exactly put the weapon in the hands as it should be. It’s close. However, there are certain poses I wanted to do with this and couldn’t because it would shift or slip out of position. That matters to me as I want as much versatility as I can get. A different hand mold would have been better here. 8.5 out of 10 medals
Playability: It’s Chief. Nothing more really need be said! 10 of 10 medals.
Overall: 48 medals out of a total 50 medals.
