HFFL’s Halo 5 Guardians Spartan Company!

With the recent announcement of Spartan Companies for Halo 5 Guardians, you just had to know that I would set one up for HFFL.

So here’s a little about the official HFFL company…

As per rules on Waypoint, you need to have at minimum 4 persons to constitute an active Spartan Company. This happened very quickly for HFFL and I got the following message on Waypoint.

HFFLs Official Spartan CompanyNow as the company is active, each person that joins will receive a REQ pack for use in Halo 5.

Here’s what I got:

You get a pop-up like this.Free REQ Pack for Enlistment

So I clicked on the helmet and got another smaller pop-up. Cool! I unlocked a helmet!Soldier Dogface helmet

When you click the preview tab within the pop-up you go to the customization pop-up window. Here you can see what helmets and armor you’ve unlocked. And yes, I unlocked the Helioskrill helmet/armor during the beta.Soldier Dogface helmet customization

The other two REQ cards I got were the same Random Weapon card. And yes, another smaller pop-up window to see a little bit more details about that card.Random Weapon REQSo a FREE REQ pack awaits you should you wish to join HFFL’s Spartan Company.

Here’s what our Spartan Company Logo is:

Through tinkering with the options, I found a forerunner symbol that could also be applied. Here’s what that would look like:

HFFL alt logo

I actually like the one with red. As part of it goes behind the eye slits of the helmet, it makes it look like it has red eyes. The streaks coming down look like blood dripping down. Okay a little gruesome maybe, but the effect is neat, I think.

So for any of you already in the company, let me know which you like, the one with or without the red. No other choice folks, I’m partial to these as they are the closest to the Valkyrie multiplayer emblem that I’ve used for several Halo games now.

Oh, I should also add that when you join the company, you’ll receive this ENLISTED Badge to go with your Halo Waypoint account

.Enlistment Badge

Now there are a few rules to joining HFFL’s Spartan Company:

• Must be a subscriber of the blog
• Must be 18. Sorry younger folk, but we will likely get rowdy on occasion. So if you join, you are automatically agreeing that you are at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a WORKING Headset/Mic
• Must make ‘callouts’ during multiplayer matches. (It’s okay if you don’t know them at first, you will learn. Chances are, I’ll run an online ‘class’ on these, so you can hop in and learn the callouts for maps. Communication during matches is VERY important folks. It’s been the key to winning games against stronger teams for me and friends in the past. Sure, another team might have a few good slayers, but if you communicate effectively, you can eliminate that advantage. Which brings me to the next rule…
• Must be a TEAM player. None of that Lone Wolf stuff folks. Campaign can be a little different. But for multiplayer, you’ve got to play as a teammate. If I see you Lone Wolfing it, I’ll ask you to alter your game play. Continue to Lone Wolf and I may boot you from the party. Continue in other HFFL game sessions and I may remove you from the Spartan Company.

The HFFL Spartan Company is about winning, yes. However, it’s also about having fun. If we lose a game, so long as we played our best as a team, then I’m okay with it. Your skill level isn’t too important as we already have several skilled players. We will all help each other become better Spartans!

Oh and the biggest rule of all, as a member of HFFL’s Spartan Company, you are a representative of HFFL. So act like it folks. Excessive cussing, t-bagging, flipping out through the mic, won’t be tolerated. Sure there are times when you can have a frustrating game. I completely understand that. So the occasional cuss is ok. I prefer we don’t initiate T-bagging. Though, if the other team does it, especially if they are excessive about it, I might let it slide. Use your discretion, though not t-bagging is always preferred. If you have a bad game and are upset. Stop. Take a breath and get your head back into the game. If you feel you can’t play effectively, no worries. Drop out for a bit (not during a match folks…). We’ll get you back in when you’ve had a chance to calm down. Gaming is about FUN, not frustration.

As of this writing, we have 12 members! That’s a good start! It means we have a FULL compliment for Warzone and that is going to be VERY key to us winning those games!!!

I’m still updating some settings, writing a bio and such. In the meantime, if you’d like to join, please follow THIS LINK.

Acceptance to HFFL’s Spartan Company is at my sole discretion. Though I will take input from my Lieutenants in the group.

Once you’ve joined, if you have anyone you’d like to recruit, let me know. We’ll get some games in with them first to judge if they are a team player and a good fit for us.

If once joined, you have a problem with any other member, please do not fight with them. Bring it to my attention and I will address the situation.

Okay folks, I look forward to having a fun and winning company. Will you join us??

  1. Super pumped to see this company grow 🙂 Also, in terms of the logo, my personal favorite is the simpler, blue-gray one.

    • Thanks for your vote. And yeah, I hope we can have enough folks for a few Warzone squads. It would be a thrill to MAX out at 100 people in the company.
