The packaging for this set is very nice. Everything is clearly seen through the clear plastic bubble, with exception to the two figure stand plates that are held within one of the crates.

This is everything you get in the set. It’s a great mix of weapons and accessories.

Here is a close up shot of the weapons and grenades. As a fan of translucent toys, I was particularly happy with the nades.

This set marks the first time we have orange hard light shields. Super glad to have these. And below are the two figure stand plates mentioned in the specs above.

These crates are altogether new. Definitely a very Forerunner looking shape to them. A wee bit more on these in a moment.

Here are the two figures included. With exception to the heads of each and the obvious color difference, the figures are the same. I’m okay with that though. 

Both the Sniper and Soldier are geared up for action!!

Here we see that all the weapons of each color and two of the nades can fit into a crate. The hard light shields are way to big for the crates.

Regarding those crates, they are indeed stackable. Not as flush as the UNSC ones, but still stackable. I like these a lot. Im going to have to find a way to incorporate these into a custom build some time.

Summary: The set has no build time. The amount and varied types of weapons is fantastic. Translucent splinter grenades are a welcomed addition to the collection as are the new color hard light shield. The brand new crates are very much representative of Forerunner design. Great job to the design team there!

Overall Rating: I give this set 10 out for 10 medals. It has everything you would want in a weapons set. 6 guns, 4 grenades. The new crates are awesome. And the fact that the two figures are ‘army builders’ really puts this over the top. As far as value goes, it’s worth it. Even if you pay the higher $9 amount it’s a good buy.

Consider this, each figure would be $3.50 in a blind bag, including the figure stand and one of the weapons. That accounts for $7 of the set right there. In addition to that, you also get 4 more guns, 4 grenades, 2 hard light shields, 2 NEW crates, and a partridge in a pear tree….er wait, no that’s something different, LOL. Seriously though, all that extra stuff easily makes up for the other $1-2 in price.

Why did I give it a 10 out of 10?
• Great for army building.
• Excellent array of weapons and accessories.
• NEW crates that fit in well with Forerunner design from the games.

Do I recommend it?  Most definitely! (Well unless you are in my immediate area…I want them all! LOL) Okay, maybe not all, you can have ONE. HA HA!
