I chose to add this pic in specifically so you could see the lot number for this set.

The StandMB S IV Battle Pack III Stand 1
The pic above shows the stand as Mega Bloks gave directions for. I typically don’t make a stand and just use these pieces for dioramas and the like.MB S IV Battle Pack III Stand 2
However, I decided to try a couple of other builds for the stand to show some variation. I like the one above as it’s two tiered. The only problem is one side doesn’t have as much support and the angle tile doesn’t fit exact (see inset pic). Still, it’s a reasonable secondary solution for a stand.

I also made a two part stand. This allows me to position the stand differently while still have a two-tiered effect.

The WeaponsMB S IV Battle Pack III weapons
Standard Shotgun, SAW and wine colored Needler. As well, we get the new style Plasma Pistol and Jackal Shield clear (or active camo if you prefer).

The Figures

Imperial GruntMB S IV Battle Pack III Fig Grunt
I’ve been wanting the Imperial Grunt to be made in orange. Very happy to finally have that small wish fulfilled.MB S IV Battle Pack III Fig Grunt Detail
A much closer look at the detail and paint application on the grunt. Great stuff!

Silver Mark VI Spartan (Halo 5 style)MB S IV Battle Pack III Fig Silver Mk VI
Essentially this is Master Chief in silver colored armor. I’m a fan of silver being used as an armor color. For one, it’s nice and shiny. Secondly though, for those who make custom paint jobs on their figures, this one is easier to use than most due to the base color of silver.

Gungnir SpartanMB S IV Battle Pack III Fig Gungnir
What I like about this Gungnir is the rich blue color. It’s close to the blue that is used for Fireteam Majestic. So you might consider him a replacement Spartan for that team!MB S IV Battle Pack III Fig Gungnir Detail
A close-up of the helmet to show the strip. Also, that white dot is meant to be there as that is it’s ‘visor’.

Active Camouflage JackalMB S IV Battle Pack III Fig A-C Jackal
AWESOME! You long time readers know that I’m a HUGE fan of translucent figures. This is not exception. In fact, I like it even more so since it doesn’t have any color. I never got the chance to own the transparent Jackal from Halo Fest back in 2010. That one was the old style Jackal, while this one is the 343 era Jackal. I’m happy to finally have at least one transparent Jackal!

Hmm, will the Jackal take down to Gungnir Spartan while he’s focused on the Grunt? I don’t think so! Silver is there to stop that from happening!MB S IV Battle Pack III Action 1

Actually, they are all just friends posing for an action shot! LOLMB S IV Battle Pack III Action 2

Summary: Virtually no build time for the stand. This is a figure set, plain and simple.

Overall Rating: I give this series 9.5 out for 10 medals.

Why did I give it a 9.5 out of 10?
• The only knock to this is that the Gungnir armor has been used pretty often. It’s a great armor, though, so I haven’t tired completely of it yet. Similarly for the Silver Spartan too. But that’s just being a little nit-picky.

Value: The price of $10 that I paid for this was fantastic! It can sell for as much as $15 at retail. I was surprised to have found this at Dollar General when I haven’t yet found it at any of the big box stores. At $10 it’s WELL worth the cost! Even at the higher end of $15 it’s pretty good. Each figure is worth $3, ao that’s $12 right there. The stand might not be worth the difference of $3, but I won’t squabble over that. They are good pieces to use elsewhere.

Do I recommend it?  Yes! As an army builder, this set featured two figures in the Grunt and Jackal that I’d like to have more of. Even as a one-off set, it’s good. Having 2 Covies and 2 Spartans makes this a firefight right out of the package!
