Halo Toy PRE-view: Mega Construx Challenger Series

Challenger series has hit stores! Here’s a look at the figures included in this blind pack series!

First, here’s a droup shot. Notice the green theme! I LOVE IT!!!megabloks-micro-action-figures-challenger-series-cnc84-17381

As a person who grew up at the very tail end of the green army man phase, I ALWAYS appreciate green armored figures. This is no excpetion and I’m VERY happy about the color choice here.

Okay, let’s take a quick look at each figure.

Grunt Minor
I’m a big fan of army building figures. Grunts are definitely HIGH on my list of those. This Grunt marks the first of the generation 3 Grunts. The Gen 1 Grunts were much smaller. Gen 2 they got bigger. Now with Gen 3, the have added articulaiton AND removable armor! Mega just keeps getting BETTER and BETTER! The Grunt comes with the Gen 2 Plasma Pistol. It’s rarity in this series is common, so it should be easy to find.

White Spartan Mark IV
White the armor itself isn’t green, the visor is. And wow is it’s a great shade of green. I really like the speckling within the plactis here. It gives the fig a gritty look. It comes with an Assault Rifle. It’s rarity in this series is common, so it should be easy to find.

War Master Spartan
War Master is my favorite Halo 4 armor. So any time I can get a new version, I’m on it! The green here is like an apple green. It comes with a Hydra. It’s rarity in this series is common, so it should be easy to find.

Banished Brute
This is now the fourth Banished Brute and I’m loving it! The previous colors are blue, orange (both in the weaponizer set; and red, which comes with the Banished Ghost, which I’ll be reviewing here in a couple of days.) I don’t mind the non-banished colors (which is red). I see the other colors as multiplayer team colors. It’s rarity in this series is rare, so a little harder to come by. This is considered an army builder, though since it’s a multiplayer color, I don’t expect it to be too scarce. If it were the red one, YES, it would be much harder to come by.

Elite Zealot
This Zealot comes with a green energy sword. Often reserved for Living Dead, it goes well with the green armored elite here. It’s rarity in this series is common, so it should be easy to find.

Translucent Green Helioskrill Spartan
Okay, so you just KNOW I was excited for this figure. I constantly tout how I’m a big fan of tramslucent toys. The Helioskrill armor has made it’s way toe Mega and this ones a beaut! It comes with a trans-green Hydra. It’s rarity in this series is ultra rare, which will make it much harder to find.

UNSC Marine
I am SOOOO getting a small army of these! I mean come on, just look at that armor coloration! This marine screams to be in multiples in your collection. Well, mine anyway, LOL. It comes with a Battel Rifle. It’s rarity in this series is common, so it should be easy to find.

Once again, another fantastic army builder. Okay, maybe just a squad, but still, ha ha. Nice added detail having the breastplate painted. It comes with a backpack and Assault Rifle. It’s rarity in this series is rare, so a little harder to come by. So that’s going to be one of the sought out figs as ODSTs are popular within the Mega collecting community.

As of this writing, it is not yet know if there are any chase figures in Challenger. If there is, you can bet I’ll post about it!
