Love the trailer and can’t wait to play. A couple of things I was wondering. Is the Halo that appears the repaired Installation 03, or is it the new Alpha Halo? I also wonder if that is the ring we see Cortana on at the end of Halo 5 (we don’t know how much time has elapsed between the end of the campaign and that final scene).
I also want to see how Isabel evolves. She starts out pretty timid and wanting to run and then seems to embrace the role of a combat ship AI and maybe controlling the Halo array (?).
Anyway, can’t wait to check it out.
I don’t think the ring is the same as Cortana’s ring. As for it being either 03 or Alpha, that’s debateable. Given that the time elapse form Halo 3 to Halo 5 is just a few years, it would seem unlikely that it’s an all new Alpha. However, we also do not know the extent of the damage done to the Ark as well as the previous ring being created there. It could be that ring was too far gone to use. If so, it’s entirely possible though that it was scavenged for parts that were uneffected by the devastation.
Isabel seems like she’s going to end up being powerful. Who knows, she might even take on Cortana later on. Not in Halo Wars 2 mind you. In the newest trailer, Isabel wields a power we have not seen yet. She has both of her hands grasping reddish energy balls. I think that is her “Ghost in the Machine” power (ala Blitz Card info). Meaning that she infiltrates Atriox’s Fleet ship and uses the glassing beam against his own forces. That can be further substantiated by the fact of seeing Brutes being decimated by the beam.
At any rate, I think the story of Halo Wars 2 is going to be AWESOME! And I hope we don’t see the last of the Spirit of Fire here. It would be fantastic to have it integrated into the FPS games somehow.
