It’s that time of the year again folks. LANstravaganza is upon us!

For those of you who don’t know, you may be asking, what is LANstravaganza? Well, as the name implies, it’s a LAN. But it’s so much MORE than just that!. Take a look at LANstravaganza’s from years past for an idea of the goings on and read on after for all the details for this year’s event!

The 2nd LANstravaganza was brought closer to home, literally. I held it at my home in my sun room. It was a bit cramped and warm, but we made it work!

So what’s in it for THIS year 2017, the FIFTH Annual LANstravaganza? PLENTY!

Where: Pittsburgh Pennsylvania!
When: August 11-13, 2017 (Friday-Saturday-Sunday)

• 9-9:30 Halo Trivia Contest

Saturday:
• 1-3pm Halo Wars 2 Tourney Day 2 / Halo 5 General Gameplay
• 3-4:30pm Break for Eats / Watch Forward Unto Dawn

After each night, we will likely go hit the town for some Primanti Brothers sandwiches. This has become a staple of LANstravaganza!

A brief description of the various events during LANstravaganza:

Halo Wars 2 Tournament:
This is a 1v1 Tournament, Double Elimination.
Each day will feature a different game type consisting of Deathmatch, Domination and Strongholds.
Prizes will be awarded to the top 2 players.

Halo 5 FFA Tournament:
This will be a 4 person FFA Tournament, Double Elimination.
The reason for the smaller player count is to take away some of the luck involved by stray nades as well as someone simply ‘cleaning’ up a kill. The smaller player count means you need to be more strategic in gameplay.
When the final 4 persons are left, they will battle it out for the top 4 places. Prizes to be awarded to the top 3.

General Halo Gameplay:
While the tournaments are going on, guests not in those rounds are welcome to play Halo at their leisure. Gaming may consist of Halo 5, HMCC, Halo Wars 2.
Times when general gameplay is happening and no tournament play, we will play either against each other in teams or roll in Halo 5 BTB ir Warzone.

Halo Trivia Contest:
Brush up on your Halo lore and more. These trivia questions will cover the gamut of everything Halo! Prize to the person who get the most correct. If there is a tie, there will be a series of sudden death questions to determine the winner.

Warthog RC Racing (A FIRST for LANstravaganza)
For the FIRST time at LANstravaganza, we’ll be holding a Remote Control Racing contest. Each participant will get to have one test lap to get used to the controls and course layout.
Then it’s 3 laps for your total time. The top 2 persons will then get another crack at their best times. The person with the best time of those top two wins a prize.

CornHALO (Cornhole with a Halo twist!)
Another FIRST for LANstravaganza! The ever popular Cornhole game will be played for prizes. Same standard sized boards, but the rules are slightly altered for this tournament.
Teams of 2 will compete in a single elimination contest. First team to get to 17 points (or better) wins the round and moves on to the next round. Top team overall wins prizes.

So what are the prizes this year? So far we have several various Halo Mega Bloks/Constuct sets, BoomCo Halo Needlers and Halo Card Decks. I’ll be contacting more potentail sponsors for even more prizes.

Raffle:
Didn’t win in one of the tourneis or contests? Or maybe you did and want even more! Well then, buy a raffle ticket for a bevy of Halo prizes consisting of some of the same items listed above!

Food and Drink:
• We will provide chips and soda all day.
• As well there will be burgers and hotdogs during our break for eats.
• It’s BYOB if you plan to drink alcohol. Of course, you MUST be over 21 to imbibe. Also, if I feel you are too imparied to drive, you must hand over your keys and we will arrange transportation for you to your home/hotel.

Door Prizes!
Every LANstravaganza guest will receive a small bag of goodies as a door prize. (While supplies last)

So, after all of this, you want to come to LANstravaganza? GREAT!
You can either pay ahead by PayPal. Send funds (as a gift ONLY) to [email protected]. Indicate which days you are paying for or if for the whole weekend. If paying for multiple persons, please indicate that as well. You may also pay at the door, however, door prizes will first be awarded to those who paid ahead.
NOONE UNDER 18 allowed! Sorry folks, I won’t babysit someone’s kid for any of these days. As the game is 18+ and there will likely be alcohol consumption and cussing, I won’t be subject to having minors at the event. NO EXCEPTIONS!
