And on with the pics! (Click pics to make BIGGER)

The front box art shows most of the contents of the set, while the box shows the figures in a battle scene. In set on the back is ODST Squad Ambush set. (A set I have not yet found as of this writing…sigh.)

In the box you get a tray of figures, weapons, stands and parts of the crate as well as a bag of parts and a small instruction manual.

Here are all the pieces sorted out. Not much really as the draw is the figures. (But it’s ALWAYS nice to have more crates and cover!)

The assembled cover and crate. I wish these were standard in all small figure sets that have Covenant figures in them.

We get a nice mix of weapons in this set. I really like that this includes a two-piece muzzle flash accessory.

Here’s the DMR with the scope and muzzle flash attached. Really amps up this weapon!

On to the figures!

Spartan Athlon: I really like this armor as well as the color. Anytime we can get more Spartans in Green, I’m all for it!

Spartan Vector: Another Green Spartan, YES! The shoulders are the same as the Scout Spartan.

Elite Ranger: As there are two in this set and they are the same, I’m only showing one here. This armor set for Elites is one of my all time favorites. So the more we can get, the better! I do wish this were dark blue instead of purple. But that’s just a preference of mine. I still LOVE the figure!

Below you see how you can either attach the rods via an “L” shaped pin to the hole in the back OR have the rod inserted into the bottom of the foot. This is a great way to show varying height in the air.

The Spartans are locked and loaded and ready for a Covenant ambush!

And finally the whole set. Green and Purple rule the day!!!

Summary: The set’s build time is very short build, only requiring the cover and crate to be built. The set has two good armor choices for the Spartans while a great choice for the Elites.

Overall Rating: I give this set 9 out of 10 medals.
Why did I give it a 9 out of 10?
• The set is great in that it has army builders in the Elites.
• Having a Covenant crate and cover as extra scenery is an excellent addition.
• My only ever so minor issue is that Rangers have been made in purple before and we only ever had them in blue (the more official in-game color) once, WAY back in the blind bag Bravo series.
• Would have liked weapons skins, but understand why not, so as to keep the set affordable.

Here’s my opinion on the break down of the value of this set. (In US dollars)
• Each figure with one weapon and stand worth $3.50. Total $14
• The crate I value at $1.
• The cover I value at $1.
• Two clear rods 25 cents each. Total 50 cents
TOTAL: $16.50 (before tax and in U.S. dollars)

Given that the set costs $15 US before tax, I find the value of this set a little above that of the retail price.

Do I recommend it?  Definitely! I always enjoy getting more Green Spartans. Having two army building Elite Rangers is great. And the added crate and cover add to overall set pieces, should you make a diorama out of these.
