And on with the pics! (Click pics to make BIGGER)

The front of the package shows most of the armor bits and the included figure through a large window. The back of the package shows the completed EXO suits as well an alternate build.  The other two EXO suits in this series are also shown in the bottom right corner.

There is a small plastic tab at the top left of the plastic bubble on the front of the package to lift off, to make it easier to pull the bubble away from the cardboard.

In the package you get the tray of armor parts, the figure, the Mauler as well as two bags of parts and a small instruction manual.

Here are all of the pieces sorted out.

A shot of the figure unarmored (but with Helmet). You will need to remove the armor if you plan on having the Brute pilot the EXO suit.

Okay, let’s get into the build.

You start by adding the back and shoulder armor. There is a pin in the back armor that attaches to the hole in the back of the figure. This will keep the Brute securely locked into place.

Next we build the legs. This is the exact same build for both legs. The thigh armor is just turned 180° to accommodate the other leg of the figure.

Here are the legs attached. You can see that the legs of the Brute are inserted into the thigh armor of the EXO suit.

Next we build the arms. Similar to the legs, they are the exact same build, just with pieces turned to accommodate the other arm.

Here the armored arms are attached. Note how the arms are inserted into the shoulder armor of the EXO suit. As well, the elbows of the Brute line up with the shoulder joint of the armor. This makes it easy for the armored arms to move about and not be hindered by the figure.

We add a few back parts.

The buildable Shield is VERY cool! This might even work well with a Hunter in the future??? I for one am ecstatic about the amount of translucent pieces in the shield!

The shield attaches to the forearm.

Next we assemble the buildable Gravity Hammer.

Here both the Hammer and Shield are shown with the EXO suit holding them.

Wow this looks powerful!

Here’s a comparison shot between the Breacher EXO suit and a Hunter to put into perspective how big the suit is.

The EXO suit is a bit tall. Here shown with the figure out of the suit and the figure’s armor back on it.

The figure in orthogonal views. I REALLY like the blood red color of this armor. Screams Banished for sure.

As part of the instruction manual, there is a page that shows an alternate build. This you can see below and access through the APP.

This is what the APP page looks like for this set.

I decided to make the alternate mode for this review as well. Here is that process.

Okay, so first for this alternate build, you only need remove the lower left arm and the back pieces. This is what you should have then.

You build this bulbous cannon.

It’s then attached to the left arm as seen below.

You build a new set of back armor with some of the other pieces.

And that is attached.

So you’re left with these pieces.
I wanted to make something of these as I don’t like to have left over pieces just lying around. So…

So… I made this AXE out of them!

Both the axe and blaster attached to the EXO suit.

Summary: The set’s build time is quick. With mostly repetitive builds for the limbs, it’s an easy build. As of this writing, this is considered a non-canon EXO suit. Meaning, it does not appear in any of the games or novels.

Overall Rating: I give this set 10 out of 10 medals.
Why did I give it a 10 out of 10?
• Though it isn’t canon to the Halo franchise, it’s a great looking set. It definitely fits well within the Banished theme.
• I REALLY like the buildable Shield.

Here’s my opinion on the break down of the value of this set. (In US dollars)
• The figure with it’s figure stand and Mauler I place at $3.50.
• I put the EXO suit and it’s weapons at $8.50.
TOTAL: $12 (before tax and in U.S. dollars)

Given that the set costs $15 US before tax, I find this set just slightly overpriced. Account does need to be taken for the packaging and printing thereof as well.
I do find that the set looks great next to other Banished sets and figures.

Do I recommend it?  Absolutely!! While it’s not in Halo Wars 2, it would totally fit! The blood red, black and silver color pieces scream Banished! I even recommend getting TWO of this set so you can have the alternate version as well!
