Toy Review: Wicked Cool Toys “World of Halo” Brute Captain

Before I get started, I wanted to mention something.
This article marks a NEW chapter for HFFL. The FIRST of reviews for Wicked Cool Toys Halo action figure line! I already have many reviews lined up.
I have to say, this line easily rivals McFarlane’s line from several years ago. I think fans are going to be very happy with what WCT has to offer!!

Also, the term “World of Halo” used in the title refers to all figures in that series being in scale with one another.

And on with the pics! (Click pics to make BIGGER)

The packaging has a nice shape to it. It gives off a vibe of being very “strong”, if you will. Kind of how a muscular person’s torso is. Thicker at the top, slimmer at the waist, then thicker at the hips. It could also be interpreted as being Master Chief’s helmet. Green mostly all over, with the window (visor), having an orangish color card in the background.
The back shows a pic of Master Chief in a running pose. Most of WCT’s World of Halo packaging is like this. Not sure why they went that route instead of displaying other toys in the line? But it still looks nice.
Considering that I open the packaging, the back doesn’t make much difference to me. For those that collect and keep in package, this shouldn’t matter much either as you do not generally display figures with the back facing front.

Included with the figure are a stand and a code card. The code card gives you something special for Halo Infinite. To redeem the code from Wicked Cool Toys Halo line, go HERE. Watch my social accounts on twitter and instagram for Code giveaways in the very near future!

As for accessories, you get two jet pack thrusters and one of the NEW Halo Infinite weapons, a Mangler. We have yet (as of this writing) to truly see what the Mangler can do. It reminds me of the Halo 3 Brute Mauler, with a hint of the Spiker.

The thrusters are inserted into a large slot that has two holes near the bottom of it. This keeps the thrusters in place. You can easily remove them if you choose. So no worries about that being permanent, if that is a concern.

Below is just one action pose you can get the Brute Captain into. There is a ton of articulation for you to play or display with!

Yep, this is THE CRAIG from the Halo Infinite reveal! I felt it only appropriate that we start off the new chapter of the WCT toy line with Halo Infinite’s arguably most famous NPC! LOL

Here is a much more descriptive look at the articulation that the figure has. Obviously, joints on one side are reflected on the other. So both shoulders have ball joints, for example.
Some of the names I give to these joints may be amended later, if I get word from either 343 or WCT about the correct nomenclature for them.

Here is Craig in orthogonal views. Be sure to click this pic to open it up bigger. LOTS of great detail to see!

And finally a short little clip shown under lighting that makes it look like he was just beamed down from a ship.

Evaluation
Sculpt: Excellent. So much detail in the armor for this figure! 10 of 10 medals!
Articulation: This figure has plenty of articulation that will be considered standard with WCT Halo humanoid figures. Torso articulation is limited due to this figures bulk. Ankle articulation is also slightly limited due to the armor in between the toes. Most of the figure joints are hidden, which I much prefer. 9 out of 10 medals
Paint Application: The paint application is good. A light silver wash on some of the parts denotes battle worn armor. There is a smattering of brown color, mostly on straps for the armor. The black wash to the head, hands and feet add depth to those areas. 10 of 10 medals.
Accessories: Not many accessories here. What there are though are appropriate for the figure. A stand, the Mangler and the thrusters. 9 out of 10 medals
Playability: Standard playability. It can be posed in many positions. 9 of 10 medals.
Overall: 47 medals out of a total 50 medals.

Do I recommend this product? ABSOLUTELY! In fact, I’d go so far as to say this is a must have, if only for the “Craig” memes. But really though, this is one chonky boi! A VERY solid figure! I’m very happy with this direction in the WCT toy line.

If you have any questions about this figure that I didn’t cover in the review, please feel free to either reply below or e-mail me at [email protected] or on twitter @HaloFanForLife.
