I know some of you are wondering what that is about. Here’s the explanation.

I’m building a portfolio post to show potential employers some of my work over the years. The information and graphics contained within that password protected post is copyrighted and is not for everyone to see.

I’m using this as a tool to gain employment. The overwhelming majority of the content in the password protected post is not Halo. The only bit that is, is to make mention of the blog and my association with Halo and it’s community.

If anyone has any further questions about that post, please feel free to ask. Though certain questions I may answer given the nature of that post.

After an exhausting week last week, and a very fun filled weekend, I’m finally back to posting as usual. There’s both good and bad news (not bad for the blog though). Below I talk about what went on during the course of this past week/weekend to an extent. Continue reading →

As I suspected, the rumor is false.

Shinobi has tweeted out that they never made the tweet that was screenshot.

Apparently the post from Frank O’Conner was taken from a different thread and was posted some time ago, not recently.

Darren O’Hare hasn’t posted on Twitter in some time.

So it appears ‘thefriendlyassassin’ isn’t so friendly. To start an outright lie like that is ridiculous and of course wrong.

For my part in reposting that, I apologize. I did say treat it as rumor. However, next time, when something like this happens, I”ll endeavor to research it a bit more to see if it’s true or not.

Folks, I’m not a professional reporter. I’m a Halo fan. So when I read news like this, I pass it on to you. Yes, I feel like one was pulled over on me (and you as well). I can tell you this much, I”ll never report something from the friendlyassassin again, no matter how credible it may seem.

If the Super Bowl were in the Halo Universe (and who’s to say it isn’t in 500 years…), I’d be rooting for the Sigma Octanus Pelicans.

My creation based off of the Seattle Seahawks logo.

The Seahawks logo, just in case you’ve been hiding under a rock or living in a cave and haven’t seen it, ever…

If you go to xboxsicknote.com you’ll find a neat little app within that let’s you create a medical excuse for gaming. There are a few games to choose from. Of course I picked Halo…

Here’s the resulting medical excuse I got:

Wort wort wort! LOL.

Go check it out and have a little fun. Though don’t expect to actually USE the note and be excused. You’ve been warned.

The Halo 5 Beta will be coming to a close very soon. So I thought it would be nice to get a group together to play the beta on Friday.

If you’ve been playing the beta, you know there are some new features to enjoy. If you haven’t played, then this is the perfect opportunity to get in on the action before the beta is over.

I’m on a personal mission to hit SR38 before the beta is done so that I can unlock all of the armor available via the beta.

We’ll start at 8pm Eastern time and run for at least 3 hours. More if there are enough players and interest.

Since we can only have 4 person parties, we may need to split into two groups. That’s fine by me! I’d love to see a few groups of HFFLers playing the beta together. Hmm, maybe even a chance match-up?

So get ready to don your armor Spartans! We’re going to battle!

In an effort to be inclusive to all who come to the blog as well as provide an opportunity to bring new articles to the blog, I’m inviting you all to share what you’d like to see HFFL provide, promote, share, write, etc., in 2015.

While I often have daily content, there are times when I skip a day because there isn’t much to report on for Halo.

I’d really like to hear/read/see some of your suggestions as to what you’d like to see come to the blog. So long as it’s directly HALO relevant, that is. While answers like, ‘more of the same’ is fine, I’m looking for NEW ideas. Either new to the blog itself or something you’ve not seen anywhere on any Halo fan site.

Here’s your chance to have direct input to what you see/read on HFFL.

I look forward to reading your suggestions. Either reply below, or feel free to e-mail me at sal@halofanforlife.com

I had intended to start a series of article today on a Halo project I am nearly finished with. However, today was a rough day, ‘in real life’ having to take my dog to the vet. She’s fine now. None the less it was a very taxing day on both my wife and I.

So I’ve decided to start the series tomorrow after I’ve had some good rest and can think a bit more clearly.

Apologies to everyone that was anticipating this today.

Not much to report today. The new Nightfall episode, and that’s about it. New patch for the HMCC is incoming.

In the meantime, I’ve got a project I’m working on that will take some time to complete. I’m already 5 1/2 hours into. I expect another 10 hours or so for this before I’m done.

What it is, I do not yet want to say. Believe me, you will know what the project is when done.

So yeah…this is just a little tease for now.
