Halo Community Update 5.12.15
As we get closer and closer to the end of May, the weeks start to blend together. The days get longer, news and announcements slow down quite a bit, and teams across the studio focus in on upcoming experiences. For the Halo 5: Guardians team, this means perfecting the polish and presentation of new, never-before-seen goodness that awaits. Across the studio, the MCC team hammers away on upcoming game updates. I sit somewhere in the middle, furiously running back and forth between the two, checking out what they’re working on, and getting in on as many playtests as I can, including the latest Halo 5: Guardians Arena maps, the stormy shores of Relic and the devastated streets of New Mombasa found within ODST, and [REDACTED], which we’ll be sharing more about later this year.

For those of you, like me, who are steeped in the lore of Halo, this isn’t news to us. But one thing I had never really thought about before was the pain that those clone kids went through. Their fragile young lives were only made to be destroyed. That is tragic, even if the outcome was the likes of Master Chief and company.
Gah, I almost forgot to put this in completely! What if Pharaoh is actually either Halsey or better yet, Cortana reborn? It would be much easier for Cortana to infiltrate ONI/Gov’t than Halsey. I’m still not 100% on Cortana having ‘died’. When she says ‘most of me is down there’, I think she was referring to herself as downloading herself into earthbound servers. There is no ‘down’ in space. And we just can’t expect that Cortana would use that phrase incorrectly, rampant or not. Ok, there’s my mind running wild with conjecture again, LOL.

Welcome back, canonheads. Last week we were all over the content map talking about new, revamped, and upcoming features in the Universe section of Halo Waypoint and the Halo Channel, as well as Canon Fodder itself. This week will be a bit lighter as we are all at once coming down off the craziness that was the Great Puzzle Hunt of 2015, as well as being ridiculously heads-down working on a host of exciting secret goodies as we hurtle towards E3 this summer. Combined with the release of Halo: Hunters in the Dark by Peter David, June will be an exciting month to be a Halo fan, I can tell you that much.
And with that, let’s dive in.
