It’s been some time since I’ve done a review for a McFarlane Halo action figure. This year McFarlane has only brought out the following two figures. It’s the Halo 2 Master Chief and the Master Chief form the 2013 E3 trailer.<\/p>\n

I didn’t take either of these out of the package. It’s a rare instance when I do that. So these reviews won’t be all encompassing as I usually do, hence “quick” review.<\/p>\n

\"MC<\/a>
\nOnce again we have McFarlane figs on the slender card. I much prefer this to the wider ones they used to have in years past. Though the E3 Chief (with the cloak), looks a bit cramped in there. Still, they both display nicely. And that’s what I’ll be doing with these two, displaying them.\"MC
\n<\/a>The Halo 2 Chief comes with a small assortment of weapons and accessories. As you can see form above, there are two grenades and two SMGs (if you want to put him in the classes Halo 2 pose:

\nIt also includes a Battle Rifle on one side and below shows two Brute Plasma Pistols.\u00a0\"MC<\/a>
\nHaving 5 weapons and 2 ‘nades for one figure is really good by McFarlane Halo figure standards.<\/p>\n

Next we have the Chief as seen in the E3 teaser trailer. This includes a Boltshot.\u00a0\"MC
\n<\/a>As well as an extra hand.\"MCAs you can see the visor is cracked \u00a0as it was in the teaser trailer. The figure underneath is the same as the Halo 4 Master Chief. The cloak itself is not fabric but rather a plastic mold made to look like fabric.\u00a0
\n<\/a><\/p>\n

These were $15 each. I got mine from Target. You can also find them in Gamestop. They can also be found on plenty of internet sites.<\/p>\n

The articulation is standard for these in comparison to the previous Halo Master Chief figures.<\/p>\n

Do I recommend them?<\/strong> Yes.<\/strong><\/span> Though the Halo 2 version more so than the E3 version.
\nWhy?<\/strong> Well simply for nostalgia. Halo 2’s popularity back in the day makes this figure something nice to add to your collection. The E3 Master Chief is somewhat of an oddity in that we do not know if this accurately reflects Chief in the upcoming Halo 5 Guardians.<\/p>\n

At $15, they are on par with pricing when compared to other major action figure lines in this scale. Sadly, these two may be the last from McFarlane.<\/p>\n

There was so much potential for Halo 4 figures. At the least the named figures like Captain Lasky, Sarah Palmer and all of Fireteam Majestic. Those figures were never made, though Lasky was prototyped and was even shown on packaging in early stages.<\/p>\n

Will McFarlane pick this back up for Halo 5 Guardians? That remains to be seen. I think they are looking at the success of the game first before they go into production. Perhaps that’s why they halted any further development of Halo 4 figures. Without official word from them though, this is only conjecture on my part.<\/p>\n
