It’s been a little while since I’ve had the opportunity to review a McFarlane Halo action figure. Now thankfully, the first series of the Halo 5 Guardians McFarlane figures have started hitting retail shelves in my area and I was lucky enough to score a few of them.<\/p>\n

Okay, let’s get on with the review!<\/p>\n

The figure is prominently displayed through the bubble, with the two weapon accessories clearly visible.<\/p>\n

The back of the card shows the other figures available in the first Halo 5 Guardians series.<\/p>\n

Included are Locke’s BR (modified scope) and a magnum.\"McF<\/a><\/p>\n

Just a teaser of some of the articulation this figure has.\"McF<\/a><\/p>\n

Some close-ups help to show the amazing amount of detail this figure has! He’s not solely that ‘shark grey’ al over, but rather a mix of that, light grey, and blue piping.\"McF<\/a><\/p>\n

As well, there is the yellow marking on his helmet. I hope this gets an in-story explanation. Oh and this is not painted on but rather an applied sticker. (Done by the manufacturer, not we consumers, thank goodness!)

Plenty of detail even from the back view. It may be important to note the calf fins. I’m not sure if those are going to play any role in the story or not, or if they are just for aesthetics. I’d like to think they have a reason for being there.\"McF<\/a><\/p>\n

Below shows how the BR is stowed using a pin that is inserted into the back as well as the weapon itself.\"McF<\/a><\/p>\n

Similarly, the magnum is stored on the right thigh. Again, notice that detail on the armor!

Evaluation<\/strong><\/span>
\nSculpt:\u00a0<\/strong>Fantastic\u00a0sculpt. McFarlane does\u00a0gets\u00a0the digital files direct from 343 to use for the sculpt. Still, this looks pretty spot on. 10 of 10 medals!
\nArticulation:\u00a0<\/strong>This figure has some great articulation to it. The only downfall is the hip joint. You can’t quite get it to pose in some natural human poses. (This has remained consistent through the first of the Halo 5 Guardians figures) 9.5\u00a0out of 10 medals
\nPaint Application:\u00a0<\/strong>Superb! This paint app was hit out of the park! Really great transitions form color to color, decent weather. Only thing I am not fond of is the sticker on the head. I wish the yellow would have been a bit more opaque. 9.75 out of 10 medals
\nAccessories: <\/strong>With a Battle Rifle that can easily fit in the figures hands as well as be stowed on it’s back and a magnum that has similar qualitited, I give this a thumbs up!\u00a0Maybe just a little too weathered is all.\u00a09\u00a0out of 10 medals
\nPlayability:\u00a0<\/strong>Being the Protagonist\/Antagonist of Halo 5 Guardians, Locke should see a lot of replay to it. 10 of 10 medals.
\nOverall: <\/strong>48.75 medals out of a total 50 medals.\u00a0It really is a spectacular figure. 343 did great with their concept of this new character and McFarlane toys did a fantastic job of recreating him in action figure form.<\/p>\n

Do I recommend this product?\u00a0Without a doubt!<\/span>\u00a0Hmm, I may have to change the official HFFL Spartan from Tanaka to Locke… Hey, that might be a good idea for a contest….keep this in mind folks…<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
