\nThe Forerunner dreadnought, also referred to as the keyship, played a vital role in conserving life in the galaxy.<\/h4>\n

DEEP LINKS<\/strong><\/p>\n THE CHRONICLE OF CETHEGUS<\/strong><\/p>\n Cethegus had always known his time would come. For over a decade he had led his pack with fervent conviction and fierce renown. Cethegus had climbed the ranks of Jiralhanae society armed with a deadly mixture of cunning and bloodlust. He\u2019d outwitted Kig-Yar mercenaries and liberated the ridiculous mandibles from many a Sangheili\u2019s skull. He\u2019d slaughtered scores of humans across countless systems during the relentless march of the Covenant. He\u2019d served the Prophets and honored the Path, but still one thing remained elusive to him: Opportunity.<\/em><\/p>\n That all changed however, within what seemed like fleeting moments; Tartarus \u2013 the self-proclaimed turned Prophet-ordained Chieftain of the Brutes \u2013 had fallen in battle, cut down by the traitorous Sangheili Arbiter and the indefatigable human Demon at the site of the Sacred Ring. Tarturus\u2019 demise had left a power vacuum amidst a perfect storm; the natural progression of catalyst and consequence quickly accelerating as the Covenant neared the rapidly approaching threshold of the Great Journey.<\/em><\/p>\n Divine circumstance had brought Cethegus and his pack to a mighty fortress of the gods, far outside of the galaxy itself. Here, as part of Truth\u2019s forces, the Covenant \u2013 and the Jiralhanae themselves \u2013 stood primed to ascend, if only these filthy and unworthy interlopers could be stopped; the Demon drew near, and Cethegus himself had been entrusted with halting his progress. As Cethegus saw the Demon emerge from the chamber hallway, he felt almost relieved that his formidable Stalkers had failed to quell the human\u2019s progress just moments earlier. No, this was the chieftain\u2019s divine hour \u2013 a fact made ever more clear by the Prophet of Truth\u2019s ultimatum heard resounding through the nearby holotable. \u201cYou must win this fight on your own\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Surrounded by his loyal flight-fighters, Cethegus drew fortitude from their frenzy and activated his holy hammer. To take Tartarus\u2019 place at the right-hand of Truth, he need only do one thing. Finish this fight.<\/em><\/p>\n HFFL:<\/strong> I always enjoy when minor characters get their bit in the limelight. <\/a>Near the end of the\u00a0Halo 3\u00a0<\/em>level \u201cThe Ark,\u201d players come across a Brute Chieftain surrounded by minions. He knows who you are, and he\u2019s picking a fight. Some players however, might not realize how unique this particular encounter is. The typical fare is \u201cget in there, clear out the ads, take out the boss.\u201d It\u2019s in some ways ingrained in our gaming muscle-memory. This fight is a bit different, however. This one\u2019s a bit more personal. The Chieftain isn\u2019t out to simply end you, he\u2019s out to do it alone. 1v1 me, bro. Keen-eared players can even hear the Prophet of Truth telling him as much. As players come down the final ramp towards the encounter, you can hear the Chieftain calling you out. When the duel begins, if you don\u2019t attack his surrounding pack, they won\u2019t attack you either. It\u2019s just you and the Chieftain\u2026 until you come out on top. Once victorious, his mourning and maniacal minions will try their best to even the score. Were it so easy\u2026<\/p>\n
