This is a special set folks. It was to have come out in 2014. It was to be a Target exclusive. \u00a0For whatever reason, it had been pushed off the release list. Speculation is that due to Target’s going out of business in Canada, Mega Bloks had to stop any manufacturing\/shipping of the set until they could find a new buyer for the exclusive.<\/p>\n

This set is part of the now discontinued “Containment” series, which also featured the sets, Containment Armory<\/a> and Containment Outpost Patrol<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I was really looking forward to this set back in 2014. The big reason why was for the JFO Spartan. At the time, it would have been the first JFO to have been released. Instead the Blue JFO from the Drone Outbreak set was released first. It should be noted that as of this writing on Mega Bloks Halo sets page that the Last Man Standing II set is still shown as being a 2014 set, even though it wasn’t officially released until 3rd quarter 2015.\u00a0Never the less, I am EXTREMELY happy to have the set.<\/p>\n

I never thought we would finally get this set in stores. As mentioned in the tech specs above, I got this through a trade. Since it’s only so far been found in Canada, it would be just a bit too expensive for me to travel there for one Mega Bloks set, LOL.<\/p>\n

And on with the pics!\u00a0<\/strong>(Click pics to make\u00a0BIGGER<\/strong>)<\/p>\n

The box art surprisingly still has the 2014 design. Well, actually, it shouldn’t be too surprising. As I mentioned, the speculation is that the sets were indeed manufactured, but had to be stored somewhere until a new buyer could be found. Why Target America didn’t get these, who knows. Again though, I’m just happy it finally came out.\"MB<\/a>
\nThe package shows all of the sprains fully assembled, so no need for sorting and building with this set. The only thing from the contents of the box I do not show below are the figure stands.<\/p>\n

With the next 4 pics (infected spartans) I had to use low lighting, as the glare from the lights I normally used were washing out the globe-in-the-dark green armor of the spartans.<\/p>\n

This first one is a Spartan Operator.\"MB<\/a><\/p>\n

Next is an EVA, based off of Emile’s armor from Reach. One part exception to that is the left shoulder armor isn’t accurate to Emile, for this to be considered an ‘Infected” Emile.\"MB<\/a><\/p>\n

Now we have a Spartan Scout. Very similar to Jun, from Reach. Also note, it’s the only one that has painting on the chest armor, of the infected spartans.\"MB<\/a><\/p>\n

A Spartan HAVOC rounds out the infected Spartans. Great choice here too as the helmet always seemed to remind me of a skull.\"MB<\/a><\/p>\n

And the star of the set, IMO, the JFO. I am SO stoked to finally have this. The JFO helmet was the one I wore the most (and still do) in Reach. I begged and begged Mega to make this helmet. I’m so very glad they did, whether by my suggestion or not.\"MB<\/a><\/p>\n

Here are the infected spartans again. Very low lighting, then in darkness. They REALLY glow in the dark quite well!!!\"MB<\/a><\/p>\n

And finally…will the JFO spartan remain among the living…OR, will he too become on of the INFECTED??!!?!\"MB<\/a><\/p>\n

Summary:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>There is no build time with this set. It’s ready to display\/play with right our of the package. The glow-in-the-dark feature is very prominent, even in low lighting.<\/p>\n

Overall Rating:<\/strong>\u00a0I give this set 9\u00a0out for 10 medals.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Why did I give it a 9 out of 10?<\/strong><\/span>
\n\u2022 Not noted above, this set does have 2 repetitive figures. The Scout and the Operator Infected Spartans\u00a0were included in the other two sets. The Scout with the Patrol set and the Operator with the Armory set. I would have liked to have seen other Spartan armor choices for this set.<\/p>\n

Value:<\/strong> <\/span>At $20, this set is a little bit high. With single blind pack figures being $3-3.50 each, this set comes in between $2.50 to $5 less in value. HOWEVER…since this is a set long thought to never come to retail and it’s only being found in Canada (as of this writing), $20 is a good price for it.<\/p>\n

Do I recommend it?<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>If you got the other two ‘Containment” series sets, then ABSOLUTELY! If you didn’t, well that’s your call. If you really\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/span>like glow-in-the-dark figures, then you might want to hunt this and\/or the other two sets down. If not, then this could be a set you might pass on. It really just depends on the collector within you.<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
