Master Chief has been such a legendary character of Halo that he has inspired a great many things. From novels to building blok sets to action figures, t-shirts, cosplay armor and so much more.<\/p>\n

Today, we’re going to focus on a few of the statues.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In the mini-series Forward Until Dawn there is what I consider to be the most iconic scene of that series. If you’ve seen it, then I think you know which one I’m about to mention… Yes, it’s the Chief vs. Hunter scene in which Master Chief jumps onto a Hunter’s back and jams a grenade into it.<\/p>\n

It just so happens that McFarlane Toys created a statue commemorating that moment. I was fortunate enough to get one of these amazing statues. So let’s take a look at it shall we?<\/p>\n

The armor Chief is wearing is slightly different from what we’ve seen in the games. It does match the armor we saw in the Halo Legends cartoon. I really enjoyed that 343 kept continuity here.<\/p>\n

So first up, the box that the statue came in was huge. The statue itself isn’t one piece, it’s actually made of several pieces you assemble, no glue required.\"IMG_0440\"<\/p>\n

Even in this depiction of one frame from the mini-series, you can see how much of a bad-ass Master Chief is. That downward look of the helmet seems to say, “I mean business!”\"IMG_0493\"<\/p>\n

The outstretched arm means Chief isn’t going to gently put the grenade in. No, he plans on pushing that thing in with as much force as he can muster, with as big of a swing of his arm as he can manage!\"IMG_0495\"<\/p>\n

From the pinstripe red markings on Chief’s armor, to the glistening worms of the Hunter and the translucent green nodes of the fuel rod cannon, this statue is chock full of superb detail.\"IMG_0498\"<\/p>\n

Here is the whole statue. Chief looks dwarfed by the hunter. \"IMG_0501\"<\/p>\n

However, as you may know, in just a couple seconds from that frame in the show, the hunter is reduced to bits, with Chief satisfyingly squashing one of the surviving lekgolo worms underfoot!\"screen-shot-2012-11-02-at-6-11-18-pm\"<\/p>\n

The statue itself never went to retail. Instead it was an exclusive you could only get through McFarlane. They are rare as there were only 500 of them made. I got number 377 of 500.\"IMG_0443\"<\/p>\n

Now that’s not the only statue though. No indeed. Halo 4 spawned another fantastic statue. This one being of the pose from the Halo 4 cover art.<\/strong>\"halo_4_cover_art\"<\/p>\n

Once again, it was McFarlane Toys who were tasked with recreating this moment into statue form and they did not disappoint.<\/p>\n

My friend Pens_Halo got one of these and was kind enough to take some pictures of it for me. He brought this to the 2nd Annual HFFL LAN, so I got to see it in person. Here are just a few of the pics he sent.<\/p>\n

Once again, a massive box! I have to saw, the art on this is fantastic.\u00a0\"McF<\/p>\n

While not quite as rare as the Chief vs. Hunter statue, the Halo 4 Chief statue is still pretty rare at only 950 being made. Darn it, if that first 7 was a 1 instead…how cool would that have been to have???\"McF<\/p>\n

The statue comes with a hand signed card by Todd McFarlane himself.\"McF<\/p>\n

The statue once again is not one peices. The base is one, all but the outstretched weapon hand of Chief is another. then the weapon hand, here seen with the Assault Rifle. Just look at all the detail! ANd the paint application is beautiful!\"McF<\/p>\n

There are still other statues that have been made for product consumption. However, the last one I’m going to focus on here is the one shown in the Hunt the Truth commercials pre-Halo 5.<\/p>\n

Hunt the Truth itslef was a fantastic lead-in to Halo 5 as a sort-of radio sequel from WAY back in the old days. There were a few commercials that were created for this project as well and in one of them, we see a statue in the form of Master Chief.\"htt-chief-statue\"<\/p>\n

There were two versions of the commercial. One featuring Chief while the other Locke.\u00a0\"L-C<\/p>\n

The commercial where Locke is the aggressor, the statue is in better condition and the warzone isn’t quite as bad. Note below the chunk taken out of the statue’s head.\"L-C<\/p>\n

Near the end of each commercial, the aggressor faces down his opponent at the base of the statue. Of note here is the different HUDs shown in the commercial. What is cool about that is that each HUD was \u00a0translated into Halo 5. Infact each member of Blue Team and Fireteam Osiris had unique HUDs and you could play as any one of them.\"L-C<\/p>\n

Now, so far there hasn’t been an actual statue made for fans of this. However, Mega Bloks DID make a Master Chief figure in a stone color. It’s extremely hard to find as it was a chase figure in one of their blind pack series. If you’re interested in this figure, you can find it on eBay, however, it’s going to cost you at least $15 as that’s the going rate on eBay It’s a great looking figure. Below are a few poses as well as what the unassembled fiugre looks like within a small baggie.\"mb-chief-stone\"<\/p>\n

As I mentioned, there are definitely other Master Chief statues out there. I highly suggest you search\u00a0them out. Some great stuff out there!<\/p>\n
