Some armors have their place, some that might be considered for returning or not, some shouldn’t return for various reasons.\u00a0That said, I do realize that real people put in work to make these. So I try to take a light approach with armors I’m not fond of.<\/p>\n
I’ve split this subject into four articles. I’m not including the skinned versions of armors as skins can relatively easily be changed. This topic is more about the form and functionality of the armors themselves, than their skins.<\/p>\n
Here are the categories I made up for this series of articles:<\/p>\n
- \n
- Angular Armor: Armors with sharp angles to them<\/li>\n
- Bulky Armor: Large armors that often make the Spartan look even more oversized<\/li>\n
- Character Armor: Armors worn by named characters in the Franchise<\/li>\n
- Standard and Thin Armor: Standard I deem as roughly humanoid, not too bulky or thin. Thin being those armor that are small on the Spartan in one way or another<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

\nThe armor of Argonaut is solid. A good chest pieces, decent coverage on the upper arms as well as legs. I hope this makes a RETURN<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/halofanforlife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/ATHLON-1.jpeg\")

\nAthlon is already an iconic\/classic armor of Halo due to it’s prevalence in advertising during the run-up to Halo 5. Thick and rounded armor give Athlon a muscular look. To me, it’s the “football” armor of Halo 5 and I’m totally okay with that! I hope this RETURN<\/span><\/strong>s.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/halofanforlife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/ATLAS-1.jpeg\")

\nThere is something about that big middle piece in the chest that stands out in a not so good way, to me. The flattish shoulders seem a bit out of place too. \nCommando is a tough looking armor. Though squarish, it evokes power. It’s large double bent shoulder armor looks like it could steam roll any bipedal opponent. I’m all for this one to RETURN<\/span><\/strong>!<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/halofanforlife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/CYCLOPS-1.jpeg\")

\nI’m not sure why the chest armor is segmented as it is with a large top and smaller bottom, but it looks off. This is much in the same manner as the helmet of the same name. \u00a0No protection of the abs is a drawback too. Just not a fan of it. \nFoehammer seems a bit busy with greeblies. Aside from that, the high arching curve to the chest piece leave a bit more space uncovered and prone to damage. I know it’s named for a long gone Pilot in Halo CE. So that said, I think it’s time to put this one to rest. \nThe armor of FOTUS is a bit ordinary. It’s shoulders are used with other armor as well. It’s not a bad armor, not great. I’d be okay with it making a RETURN\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>especially given it’s popularity with the helmet.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/halofanforlife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/GUNGNIR-1.jpeg\")

\nI like the heft to the Gungnir armor. Thick thighs with prominent shoulders and an above average chest plate make for a solid design, IMO. RETURN<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/halofanforlife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/INTERCEPTOR-1.jpeg\")

\nAt first I was going to say gone. I’m not a fan of the shoulder mounted pouches. However, the chest is decent and the shoulder armor itself is large and would prevent damage better than most other armors. \nNow really it’s mostly just the torso that’s bulky, while the rest is a bit slender. Jumpmaster does have a slight Gears of War vibe to it that perhaps 343 was going for. \nMarauder is another one of those that’s really busy with details. Too much so. I’m not sure why those mustard color clips are on the armor. The additional white lines don’t really help it either. \nThis armor is fantastic.I love the large wraparound shoulders. The chest piece has some weight to it. Thighs are well covered. This is one that needs to make a RETURN<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/halofanforlife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/RAIJIN-1.jpeg\")

\nOy…Seeker… Not only is the helmet a dreadful design, so too is the armor. I know this is going to seem like a dig, so apologies for this next comment. It looks as though Seeker has a baby harness on the chest plate. I guess if you’re a Spartan momma to be, it’s good. But seriously though, it’s SO out of place on armor and Halo in general. This needs to be GONE<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/halofanforlife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/STINGER-1.jpeg\")

\nWhite markings aside, the Teishin armor is fantastic. A large chest is complemented by cool looking shoulder armor, fierce fins on the forearms and thick thigh armor as well. \nI like the shoulders of Tracer. Though the chest is larger, there’s something about the downward curvature of it that doesn’t quite sit right with me. The forearms are kind of funky too. \nVector uses shoulders that are used by other much more prominent armor sets. The thighs are okay. I’m not a big fan of the somewhat cylindrical piece on the front of the torso. UNSURE<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/halofanforlife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/VOID-DANCER-1.jpeg\")

\nI like the bulk here. The one thing though is the relative hole in the middle of the chest armor. If that were filled it would be a return for me.
