The box art is fun and shows an cool action sequence on the front, while showing off the Hornet’s features on the back.

You get several bags of parts and a small instruction booklet.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Here are the printed pieces for this set. I especially like the instrument screen!\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I think this might be a new piece. Regardless, it’s an angle that is quite unique. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The pieces have all been sorted out. LOTS of green. And not camouflage green, but the new metallic sheen green. I like it a LOT more than the camo.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The build is pretty simple. Note where those angled grey pieces are as they make up the base for the standing wings.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The top and engines are added. I like the addition of those little translucent blue thrusts. On the top part, you build into it two button projectile launchers.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Here the set is complete. It’s a fairly quick build. Also, this version of the Hornet is a bit smaller than previous iterations.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The UNSC Pilot that comes with the set has a nice green metallic sheen to it’s armor pieces.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I am LOVING this red Grunt! I only wish there were more of it in the set. I hope this one makes the rounds in the blind bag series. I need a bunch of it! (For research purposes, yeah, research…)\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The cockpit does indeed fully close over the Pilot. You may need to fold the arms in a little, as I did, to make it fit properly.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And the whole set, with figures on their stands.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I had just a few extra pieces. Curiously, I had a large 1\/4 round piece. I hope someone else out there didn’t get shorted this one.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Here we see a comparison of the Hornet and FrostRaven’s pilot figures. Note the FrostRaven’s armor isn’t shiny. Still looks great though, IMO!\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Summary: <\/strong><\/span>The set is quick build. Smaller than it’s predecessors. Great choice of included figures. Good value.<\/p>\n

Overall Rating:\u00a0I give this set 9.0 out for 10 medals.
\n<\/strong><\/span>Why did I give it a 9.0 out of 10?<\/strong><\/span>
\n\u2022 Other than it being smaller than previous Hornets, a small issue I had with the set was the small angled loop piece at the back-bottom of the set. It kept falling out while I was trying to build the set. By the end though, it fit snug enough.
\n\u2022 The only other thing I wish this set had was the sliding cockpit, like the originals did, instead of the pop up cockpit.
\n\u2022 IMO, this set is worth a multiple purchase!<\/p>\n

Here’s my opinion on the break down of the value of this set. (In US dollars)
\n<\/strong>\u2022 The figures each with their weapon and stand are $3.50 for a total of $7.
\n\u2022 The Hornet itself is worth the remaining $13.
\nTOTAL: $20.00 (before tax and in U.S. dollars)\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Given that the set costs $20 US before tax, this set is right on par for value with it’s retail\u00a0price point.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Do I recommend it?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>YES! As mentioned above, I think it’s worth multiple purchases.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n
