The box art is pretty cool. Good action shot showing the Goliath and Forgehog attacking each other. Take note on the back of the Frostraven. It shows how this Forgehog can be attached to it. I’ll show that in my review of the Frostraven.

You get two booklets of instructions as well as several bags of pieces. Nothing loose in the box.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Here are all the pieces sorted, ready to build. As you can see, I deliberately sorted them so most of the hog pieces were on the left, while Goliath pieces on the right.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

This set comes with both a buildable clip as well as a multitool.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Okay, let’s get on with the build.<\/p>\n

This Warthog build is similar to a few of the newest Warthog builds. It does have it’s differences though. Those come mainly in the grill and added roll bars. Take note of the printed pieces (upper right).\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

These pieces are what are used for the two-point hinged side hatches.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Here they are added. I show how they look fully opened\u00a0(at top). As well as fully closed. Be patient here as the hatches may pop off. Sometimes it can be tricky. Once closed however, it looks fantastic!\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The buildable turret is awesome! LOTS of detail here. It also includes a button launching projectile system.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Forgehog is complete. As you can see (at bottom), this is what the hatch looks like when not properly closed. Just a slight gap.
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Next we move on to the Goliath.<\/p>\n

Nearly everything is buildable with this figure. The entire body is all parts and not one big giant part that you add to.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Armor is built on the front and back of the Goliath. Spikes added, then the limbs.\"\"<\/a>
\nThere are some really cool parts on the back of the Goliath. As well, the helmet is freakin AWESOME!<\/p>\n

Here the Goliath stands on all fours ready to pounce.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Here is the Goliath front and back. Yes, it looks a bit awkward standing on just it’s hind legs. The Goliath is heavily articulated with shoulders, elbows, toes, hips, knees, ankles and neck.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And from the side. Note the orange w\/black striped parts on the “arms”. Each one of these has a different print to them. The directions are entirely clear which goes where, but that’s really not important. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Here’s the full completed set. The skinny hind legs look a bit out of place on the Goliath, but the rest is very cool. The warthog is awesome!\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

This version of Sgt Forge is quite good. Though, I’m not as happy about the head as I am the previous Halo Heroes version of the head (seen after Ortho pic). A simple swap will fix that, if you have both figures. I don’t have mine handy to show that as of this writing. The detail on the Sgt Forge figure that comes with this set is by far better than the Heroes figure, IMO.\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Here is the UNSC Marine. I thought it was odd that the Halo 4\/5 version of the armor was used with this set. Still, it looks pretty cool and I always enjoy collecting more Marine.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I had very few leftover pieces. On the left loose and on the right, built to I have no idea what? LOL\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Summary: <\/strong><\/span>The set’s build time is reasonable. Maybe a bit more than a lunch hour, but certainly can be done in one sitting. The warthog is slightly new with some cool new features. The Goliath on the whole is pretty cool. Though I have some slight issues. Read below.<\/p>\n

Overall Rating:\u00a0I give this set 8.5 out for 10 medals.
\n<\/strong><\/span>Why did I give it a 8.5 out of 10?<\/strong><\/span>
\n\u2022 The main issue I have with the set is the bulbous round joints of the Goliath as well as the very skinny rear legs. I’d have liked to have seen the joints covered over better and those rear legs slightly bulkier or at the least have the pegs\/joints covered better. The point and a half that comes off are due to these reasons.
\n\u2022 The warthog is great. Slight issue with the side hatches, but that really trivial.<\/p>\n

Here’s my opinion on the break down of the value of this set. (In US dollars)
\n<\/strong>\u2022 Each figure with a weapon and stand is $3.50 for a total of $7.
\n\u2022 The Goliath I’d value of $17.
\n\u2022 Warthog I’d place at $20
\nTOTAL: $44 (before tax and in U.S. dollars)\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Given that the set costs $44-46 US before tax, I find the value right on par with the price. Though you do get a lot more pieces than the typical 10 cents per piece guideline.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Do I recommend it?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Yes, certainly for the Warthog and figures. I’m happy with about 75% of the Goliath. Had these been two\u00a0separate<\/span>\u00a0sets, I’d definitely say yes to the Hog and maybe to the\u00a0<\/span><\/b>Goliath. It would depend on what additional figures would come with a Goliath only set.\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
