The packaging has a nice shape to it. It gives off a vibe of being very “strong”, if you will. Kind of how a muscular person’s torso is. Thicker at the top, slimmer at the waist, then thicker at the hips. It could also be interpreted as being Master Chief’s helmet. Green mostly all over, with the window (visor), having an orangish color card in the background.
The back shows a pic of Master Chief in a running pose. Most of WCT’s World of Halo packaging is like this. Not sure why they went that route instead of displaying other toys in the line? But it still looks nice.
Considering that I open the packaging, the back doesn’t make much difference to me. For those that collect and keep in package, this shouldn’t matter much either as you do not generally display figures with the back facing front.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for accessories, you get a NEW to Halo Stalker Rifle. This appears to be the new Alien Sniper. I like the look of it. It certainly fits in with the aesthetic of previous covenant weapons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lithe nature of Jackals means that this figure can get into some fantastic poses. Instead of having standard double jointed knees like humanoid figures do, the Jackal has a knee joint and a “hock” joint per leg. The hock is kind of like an upper ankle, if you will. With these joints spread further apart, there is more room to reposition the figure.
The sculpting here is fantastic! The only slight knock would be the feathers. But that pales in comparison to the awesome armor. And take a look at the wrinkles in the skin!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Orthogonal views of the Jackal show just how well balanced this figure is. You’d think with so much weight towards the front, that the figure might topple over. But as you can see here, it stands just fine, WITHOUT the aid of the figure stand!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is a much more descriptive look at the articulation that the figure has. Obviously, joints on one side are reflected on the other. So both shoulders have ball joints, for example.
Some of the names I give to these joints may be amended later, if I get word from either 343 or WCT about the correct nomenclature for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I didn’t show the jaw articulation above as I wanted to get a closer in shot to really show it off. You can also see where the head articulation is. There is also neck articulation at the base of the neck. So this figure is well above<\/strong> par for posing, when compared to other figs in the World of Halo figure line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Evaluation<\/strong>
Sculpt: <\/strong>Superb. Lots of detail in the armor as well as the wrinkles in the skin of the Jackal itself The Stalker Rifle is pretty well sculpted as well! 10 of 10 medals!<\/strong>
Articulation: <\/strong>This figure has the most articulation I’ve seen so far of any of the WCT World of Halo figures. Beyond what’s standard, it also includes Jaw, Neck and Hock articulation! 10 out of 10 medals<\/strong>
Paint Application: <\/strong>The paint application is very good. Blue, silver, dark grey and red round out most of the colors here, along with the ruddy brown of the Jackal’s skin. This figure’s armor doesn’t have armor scarring, so there is no silver paint wash. But that doesn’t detract at all from it. After all, it’s a sniper, so you wouldn’t expect it to have much wear and tear, being further away from the action. 10 of 10 medals.<\/strong>
Accessories: <\/strong>The Stalker rifle is the only weapon included, but it looks great. You also get a standard hexagon stand in green\/grey colors. 9 out of 10 medals<\/strong>
Playability:<\/strong> Playability with this figure is higher than humanoid figure, IMO. I attribute this to the added articulation. I can see kids (and big kids like myself) having a lot of fun playing or displaying this figure. 10 of 10 medals.<\/strong>
Overall: 49 medals out of a total 50 medals.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do I recommend this product? Most certainly! This figure not only looks great, but can be posed in more ways than the standard WCT World of Halo figures. That jaw articulation is the “chef’s kiss”! <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
