I was a guest on Podtacular, have a listen.

Thanks to POD Dust Storm for having me. This is the second Podcast I’ve done with him. The first being last week’s FUD episode break down (episode 2). He used some of my info from FuD episode 1 before that. I had the opportunity to meet him at New York Comicon last week and we discussed me being on the podcast.

Have a listen and let me know what you think.

Podtacular 322 – Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn Part 3

I’ve been invited back for future FuD casts, so stay tuned.

Podtacular-319

Thanks to my bud POD Dust Storm for inviting me to do the Podcast with him. It was fun. Though I think I sounded a bit too analytical. I’ll have to work on that for next time.

Let me know what you thought of the podcast by replying below, or tweeting me on Twitter.

Halo 4 Jackals!

German site Halobase.de has posted a gallery of pics showing the Jackals in Halo 4.

Other than the head they looks the same. It’s the head though that really makes the difference. The beak is really stunted. They look more vicious to me.

I’m guessing the 343 wants to make Halo it’s own so much that they feel the need to change each of the Covies look. The Elites also have stunted heads. The Grunts are really different with larger heads, nose breathing tubes instead of over the mouth, 4 toes instead of 3, scaley skin instead of exoskeleton type skin.

Back to the Jackals though.

Here are some select pics from the gallery (go to the link to see the full gallery):

I do like the look as they seem more fierce. I doubt 343 will explain in-game why the Covie races have changed. We’ll just have to chalk it up to developer design choice.

HFFL gets a mention in the latest Waypoint Modcast!

My friend DayandKnightly from ReactiveBias was just interviewed by CruelLEGACEY (a moderator on HaloWaypoint) for the lastest “Modcast.” At the 1:02:55, DayandKnightly mentions me and the blog when talking about working as a team.

That is awesome! Thanks DaK for the shoutout.

Here’s the link to the modcast. It’s a long one (TWSS), but there’s a lot of fun and knowledge that ensues, so take a listen.

WCM 20 – Waypoint Community Modcast Episode 20: DayandKnightly talks Halo 4 and Reactive Bias

Oh, and please be sure to check out DayandKnightly’s blog. He’s a well written blogger who likes to talk about the intricacies of the Haloverse.

UNSC Frigate made of wooden sticks.

My XBOX Live friend Erickyboo has finished his model of a UNSC Frigate made of wooden sticks. He calls it the Pure Wooden Defender.

Check the vid for this cool fan made ship:

Now if McFarlane made a mini version of the frigate, or Mega Bloks….

Halo Concept art by comic book artist Levi Hoffmeier and a really cool character poster.

Levi just became a follower of HFFL on Twitter and I saw his website, He has some really great illustrations some of which are Halo related. I asked permission to show off some of his work here, to which he agreed.

First up is a poster showcasing many of the important characters of the Halo Universe. I’d love to get a full size poster of this to hang on my wall.

Next is the Didact’s War Sphinx. This shows the angles of the Forerunner design nicely as well as shows the scale compared to what looks like the Didact himself.

Finally I composited three of Levi’s concept pieces into one as it shows a progression of what a Forerunner may look like in Halo. (Hopefully they will look something like this in Halo 4…as I’m making that assumption they will be in the upcoming game.)

Be sure to check out Levi’s website for more Halo and other artwork at http://www.levihoffmeier.com/.

Oh my goodness HaloCharts.com is closing!

All you need do is go to their home page and read for yourself. Wow, I’m shocked and surprised by this. I’ve been a member there for awhile. It pains me to see that site close as I used it nearly daily.

Kudos, Firestream, for all of your great work on the site over the last 4 years.

I understand your need for more family time. I hope the site gets picked up by someone (ahem, Halowaypoint.com)….

If not, this will be a sad loss to the Halo fan community.
