  1. That…….. was……… freaking……… AMAZING!!!

So Osiris’s first mission is to get Halsey back, eh? Awesome!

    Worth the wait!

    • Yeah, apparently so. I’m going to guess that we’re going to see Jul ‘Mdama killed then. I’ve taken 107 screenshots so far of this vid. I plan on talking about what we saw in the vid, in an article I’ll post tomorrow. Still catching new things at the third viewing.

  2. Great video. I’m even more excited now. I do hope that there is not any run and gun gameplay where you have to rush thru the level before something behind you squashes you

  3. It was cool but for me it was just…a little too much. I mean, yes, Spartans are very powerful but this was somewhat over the top.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still very hyped for Halo 5 but this cinematic seems a bit overdone to me.

Also, were there a couple of new Covenant vehicles? I didn’t recognize 1 to 2 of their ships or their Wraith/Revenant/Ghost thing.

    • Yes, new ships. Not just Covie either… As well, most of the ships have had redesigns to them.

      • Most ships are redesigned? Interesting. I wonder how 343i is going to explain that in the game universe? I mean, was there even any explanation as to why the Forward Unto Dawn became different between Halo 3 and 4?

      • No in-game reason for the FUD redesign. Just aesthetic. Likely the same reason here for H5G. Though, they might say that in telling this story through hi-def, the in-game models are how they should have appeared and couldn’t in H4 due to the limited tech of the 360. I’m not so concerned with it. Military equipment gets updated frequently nowadays. So it’s not farfetched to think this would happen 500 years from now.

I see. Not that big of a deal but I would like to see some consistency.

As for upgrading, can the armies even do that? I mean the UNSC might have recovered seeing as they have the UNSC Infinity and a whole bunch of new ships and fleets but the Covenant?

Now I admit I haven’t been exactly all caught up in the Halo lore (I still have a bunch of the books to read) so correct me if I’m wrong.

If I recall correctly, after the end of the Human-Covenant War, the Elites and the Brutes were still fighting and both sides lost a considerable amount of their forces and couldn’t replace or repair those ships since there was no longer a Covenant to support them. So the Elites and Brutes don’t really have the resources or know-how to really upgrade their ships (did any Engineers stay with them? I don’t know). As for this Halo 5 cinematic, Team Osiris seems to be taking on Jul ‘Mdama’s forces. His “army” is a splinter group of the Covenant and shouldn’t have the resources to upgrade especially considering the losses Jul ‘Mdama suffered at Requiem.

Heh. I know I’m overthinking it but I think it is something interesting to discuss. For all I know, they are all getting their resources from some yet to be disclosed places or maybe even the Insurrectionists…

    • This is why you need to stay caught up in the lore. Jul’s forces have been growing. As for some of the upgrade, again, those might just be aesthetic. However, with Jul and Halsey having located the Absolute record, who knows. That story is still playing out I the Halo Escalation comic book series from Darkhorse.

      • Yeah I know. As for the Halo Escalation, since it is a comic books series, I’m waiting for it to end so I can buy the whole series in one hardcover volume.

      • Hmm, don’t know if it will be in one big volume. Though I know you can get it in graphic novel form with several issues within each. Watch for a sale too. Earlier this year, issues were selling for $1 each. I urged people to buy then. I know a lot of them took me up on that notice.
