Heh, if I’m not mistaken, NONE of the finalists are form the RTX or Gamescom qualifiers, nor the online part of the competition. If that’s the case, then all were part of the Pro-player invitations. (Again, someone correct me here if I’m wrong.)

So where and when can you watch these eight players battle it out for the top prize of $200K? XBOX of course! Download the app on your XBOX 360 (there’s an ad for it on the main screen). Or watch it on HaloWaypoint.com. Tune in starting at 7pm ET/4pm PT. Besides all the gaming there will be reporting from Major Nelson (Larry Hyrb) and Jessica Chobot, muscial acts and MORE!

Bravo and GoldenBoy will be commentating the event.

I’ll be watching this all then immediately there after recording the next Spirit of Fire Podcast which will feature heavily on the finals.

A list of some of the Halo 4 Global Championship competitors that have made it through. Two who didn’t and one who is retiring.

While watching the stream Ghostayame listed 12 of the competitors who got through. I was only able to catch 8 of those 12 as he talked a bit too fast for me to get them all down.

Here are those 8 in no particular order (gametags have been abbreviated or written as full letters for easy reading):

In other news, two competitors who went at it on twitter with each other are out. Sadly, T2 former Halo champ is out. The GREAT news? Giggle Monstat is out. This is that “cheater” who I ranted on. I’m ecstatic that he’s gone from the competition. Now perhaps we may have a LEGITIMATE winner.

In sad news, Snipedown has been eliminate and just tweeted that he’s retiring.

Watch the Finals on XBOX Live this Sunday at 7PM ET / 4PM PT!

The top 8 Halo players in the world will battle it out during a live two-hour broadcast on Sunday, September 1st beginning at 7pm ET / 4pm PT for a chance to win a $200,000 first place prize. The tournament will be hosted by Xbox LIVE’s Major Nelson, Blair Herter and Jessica Chobot.

On top of competitive gameplay, the tournament will also feature play-by-play commentary and analysis by Andy “Bravo” Dudynsky and Alex “Goldenboy” Mendez, as well as post-match interviews and highlights. In between rounds, the broadcast will feature several Xbox One exclusives, Rooster Teeth shorts, musical acts and more.
