Pay special attention to that last one of Boba Fett vs Master Chief. That one is going to be the next “Color Me This” contest artwork, so you can get an early jump on it now if you want to!

Well, I didn’t have anyone submit a re colorization of this, and that’s okay. I worked on this on Wednesday and had meant to post it yesterday but had a bad day… So I let it slide for a day.

Here is the rendering now with added color shading/highlighting.

To read the progression of this the pic shows from left to right top to bottom:

Original artwork, Friday’s progression-some color added, Saturday’s Progression-a lot more color added;
Monday’s Progression-color added to hammer, brute’s chest and arms, Wednesday’s Progression-color added to blood spatter, highlights and shadows added to both Palmer and Brute, Actual Artist’s inking.

I’ll add some more lighting and a background sometime this weekend and show the final I came up with, compared to the actual artist’s inkings.

So I just got a hi-res digital copy of Halo Initiation #1’s alternate cover. It’s in black and white, which means….we have some coloring to do!!!

Your assignment shoudl you take it on, is to REcolorize the graphic below:

Please do NOT copy their colors. I want to see YOUR interpretation of this in other colors. I’ll choose a winner from the submissions.

The following are some of the Halo art I found on Pinterest today. Did you know HFFL has a Pinterest page? Yep! You can always check it by clicking on the link in the blogroll to the right.

On with the finds!

A particularly fetching concept pic of Requiem. I like this version better than what was actually in the game. Yes, even though or maybe because it looks like a rendition of the Death Star.

While this pic is only titled ‘Arbiter’, I have to think this is Ripa Moramee. However, those tendrils (possibly Gravemind) and the Halo ring in the distance say otherwise.

[UPDATE] I’ve been informed by ‘Louis Wu’ that the above Arbiter pic was created in 2006, so it’s likely not Ripa Moramee. Thanks for the info!

Master Chief in BLUE. Not a completely new piece of art as it seems to use an asset directly from Halo 4. Still, I like the blue affect surrounding our favorite Spartan.

Okay, tell me you don’t miss the Brutes and their badass Chopper? These guys were the ruffians, bikers, etc. of the Halo universe. We NEED to have them back in it. Thankfully, we will in the upcoming Dark Horse Halo comic ‘Escalation’ coming this winter.

I think this is a direct asset from Halo 3: ODST. Whether or not it is, it’s still VERY cool. I totally dig the holo table!

Finally, be sure to download and enlarge this next graphic. It’s a timeline of the Halo universe. VERY good to have for any Halo fan’s reference!

Here is some awesome Halo Fan Art I just found via a tweet by HaloBungie.org.

Some great color in there! Note the ODST helmet on the one grunt, LOL. Checking the artist’s deviant art page I also found the following two:

I have seen those before as part of a Child’s Play event. Didn’t know who the artist was before though. Though these two are simple copy paster from left to right for the background characters, the are still VERY cool, IMO.
