Halo’s Infection mode, the fan-created multiplayer variant that eventually became a true Halo mode, is coming to Halo 5: Guardians this month. The mode plays out as humans-versus-zombies outbreak with infected players attempting to grow their numbers by taking out the opposite team, who is simply trying to survive. For its Halo 5 iteration, 343 is going above and beyond to make the mode stand out as more than just a variant playlist, with three modified maps, a multitude of aesthetic changes, and more customization options than those available in Halo 4. Hello fair folk of fiction fancy, and welcome back to our humble lair of lore. Last week, we began our celebration of the upcoming Memories of Reach content release by digging into some of the deeper lore surrounding the hallowed Halsey’s Journal, as well as pull the icy curtain back on the fictional context for the upcoming Arena multiplayer map, Stasis.

This week, we’re going to explore a bit into how a familiar Noble narrative is weaving its influence into your Halo 5: Guardians experience very soon. And for the particularly ravenous Fodder folk, we might just have a little something… extra. Read on! Continue reading

Greetings, and thanks for joining us for another weekly read. In this edition, we’re taking a look at more of the Memories of Reach release. Let’s waste no time.

FINDING THAT PERFECT MATCH (MATCHMAKING PREFERENCES)

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been detailing various bits and pieces arriving with Memories of Reach. One of the features included will be new Matchmaking Search Preferences. These options will be present on the Arena and Warzone playlist selection screens and will give you the ability to choose between Balanced, Focused, or Expanded as your search preference. Here’s how these break down: Continue reading

New Halo 5 “Memories of Reach” Armor and Helmet Reqs Revealed

This is a reblog from GameSpot.com:

Halo 5‘s Memories of Reach update, the sci-fi shooter’s sixth free expansion, is coming later this month. While you have to wait a little while longer to play the new content, GameSpot can today reveal some new, Noble Team-inspired Reqs that are included with the free update, including helmets and armor.

The new Reqs, showcased in the gallery below Halo: Reach-inspired characters Jorge, Emile, and Jun, includes Indomitable, Vigilant, and Intruder. All of these look pretty badass.

Another thing to note that is you will also see Carter’s armor set from Halo: Reach, but that’s been available in Halo 5 since release in October. When Memories of Reach comes out, all five members of Noble Team will have their armor represented in Halo 5.

HCS Pro League 2015 Summer Qualifier Preview

This is a reblog from Halo Waypoint:

California, here we come… Coming into this weekend, only two teams have locked up spots in the Halo Championship Series: Pro League Summer 2016 Season – Counter Logic Gaming claimed the first spot with their dominant win in the Halo World Championships this March, with their rivals Evil Geniuses sliding into the second spot by virtue of their outstanding win in the HCS Pro League Invitational at PAX East 2016 by ESL this April.

This brings us to the North American Summer Qualifier, which kicked off on the virtual battlefields this past weekend. Sixteen teams took to Xbox Live in the online round of the Summer Qualifier to narrow the field down to the top eight teams in the North American region. These eight teams are now on their way to Burbank, California to compete at the ESL studio on May 8. From there, they will battle it out in double elimination groups with the top four teams punching their tickets to the HCS Pro League for the Summer 2016 Season.

Let’s take a look at the eight teams heading to the west coast to capture Halo esports glory – and maybe even a nab a solid tan while they’re at it  Continue reading

Halo Toy Review: Mega Bloks NMPD Pelican Base (Part 1-Platform and Base)

This is part one of two for this review. In this part, I will take you through the contents of the set, the building of the base and platform. In part two, the Pelican itself comes together.

I’ve actually had this set since December 2015. Was missing a few parts, so waited to get those from Mega, then just forgot to post this review as I was busy with other things. Apologies there.

Welcome back aboard the lore bus, Fodder folk. Last week, we hit on an eclectic menagerie of scattered story snippets, taking a detailed visual look at some Halo 5: Guardians armiger aesthetics, highlighting tabletop recaps, musing about Mega Bloks in motion, and more. This week however, we’re taking a bit more of a focused approach, and taking some time to remember. As many of you know, the Memories of Reach content release for Halo 5: Guardians is fast approaching, and with it, many memories of our own surrounding time spent on one of humanity’s most important 26th-century strongholds.
