What are you thankful for?

Okay, now that Thanksgiving weekend is over and I’m back to normal (entertaining relatives all weekend long) blogging, I’d like to post what I’m thankful for. Not just Halo, but in general.

I’d also like to read what you’re thankful for too.

First and foremost, I’m thankful for my wife. She is very understanding of my fandom for Halo. As I’ve credited to her many times, she’s the one responsible for suggesting I start this blog in the first place. As well, she’s the one who buys nearly all of the Halo Mega Bloks sets that I review here on HFFL. So without here, there would be no HFFL.

A big thanks to my fellow Spirit of Fire Podcast hosts, Zach and Martin. You guys stick with me month in and month out. Whether we’re discussing upcoming Halo stuff or harping on the issues with the current game, you both have supported me and contributed to HFFL.

Next to my friends. All my friends rare gaming friends and Halo fans as well. In my personal life away from XBOX, my wife and I are fairly private people. So to all of you that’ I’ve made friends with via XBOX and more specifically Halo, thank you. You folks mean a lot to me. Some of you I’ve known for 6 years or so. I’ve come to know several of these folks very well. I could recite their first/last names, girlfriend/wife’s names, how many kids they have, what kind of jobs my friends have, where they live, etc. To say I’ve grown close to some of you is an understatement. In stead of naming anyone in particular, less someone be offended for me not mentioning them, I’ll just say, you guys know who you are.

To you my subscribers, I say thanks as well. You’re responses to my blog posts constantly remind me that indeed people do come to and read the blog. Thanks for contributing to HFFL as well.

To those readers who haven’t yet subscribe, I thank you too. I can tell by the analytics of my site that there are far more readers than those subscribed. (BTW, it’s free to subscribe folks…) Again thanks. You as well help greatly in justifying my keeping HFFL going.

To all those other fans who follow me via twitter, Facebook and other venues, thanks so much. I often feel undeserving of anyone being a fan of either me or the blog in general. I’m a fan just as you are. Just as any Halo fan is, whether they have a blog, podcast, forum, etc. We’re all fans. Anyone who gets a big head about the number of fans they have has crossed the line, IMO. BTW, if I ever seem to be doing that, please let me know by e-mailing me. I don’t think myself better than any of you fellow Halo fans. I just want to share Halo related stuff with you all through the blog and hope you either gain some knowledge of Halo, get some form of entertainment, or breaking news about the games, novels, toys, etc.

To Mega Bloks, you folks have created some amazing Halo toys. And you know I LOVE building them and reviewing them here on HFFL. You’ve been kind to me over the years and I continue to be very much grateful for that.

To Bungie, thanks for creating this fantastic franchise. While you’ve moved on, many of us will always remember you as the “Forerunners” of Halo.

To 343, thanks for keeping this franchise going. You have taken over the ‘mantle’ of responsibility for Halo. While things currently are a bit rocky, here’s hoping that the Halo 5 Bets will run smooth. As well, all the other various Halo entertainment you are bringing to us.

Okay folks, so what are you thankful for? Again, it doesn’t have to be Halo related, though if it is, it’s much appreciated.

  1. Like you Sal, first and foremost is my wife. To borrow a line David Duchovny used in describing Scully, she is my human credentials. She is the best thing that every happened to me.

I am also thankful for my family, even though we are not as close as we probably should be. Friends as well. And no doubt for Halo. Without that I would have missed out on a pretty awesome community (although it is a bit rocky right now like the MCC) and the great people I met, especially those through both of your LAN’s.

    Happy Holidays!

    • Thanks man. You know I’m very much appreciative of all the help you’ve given to the blog over the last couple of years.
