So people have questions about the tank seen at Toy Fair. Allow me to answer some questions for you. For one, it’s NOT called a Scorpion. This I was told directly by Mega. Doubtful they’d mislead me on that. The camouflage bloks have a better mix of colors as noted by the pics below. Only the Red Spartan and Blue Elite come with the set. Now let’s move on to the pics I took while at Toy Fair.
All pictures are copyright halofanforlife.com. Permission to use photos must be given by e-mail. If you want to use my photos, e-mail me at [email protected], where I will direct you on the use of my photos and credit to be given.

Below shows the tank itself. Make note of the Spartan included. It has a Protector helmet, and what looks to also be Protector torso armor. IIRC the shoulder armor is Ranger or Orbital. I didn’t get an answer on that one.
Also note the blok color. It’s that nice moss green we’ve recently gotten. However, it now has a better mixed paint distribution showing strands of black and grey instead of splotches of those colors.
IN the next pic, it’s more of a top down shot. I’m really liking the turret construction here.
This next pic shows the Spartan slightly better.
The next two side views give us a better look at the armored treads.
The Spartan with the green visor in the above pic does NOT come with this set.
A front view. The biggest thing to note are the treads. They are quite different from previous tank treads.
As you see above and below, we once again (and happily I might add) the blue Halo 4 Storm Elite. He comes with a Storm Rifle and can man a turret.
Now since I’ve been told the name of this tank is not the ‘Scorpion’, I and I”m sure you too are wondering what this may be called. We’ve had other tank names before, like the Grizzly. With Scorpion and Grizzly not being related, it’s hard to guess what the tank above might be called. Peronally, I like the name Kodiak. Grizzly refers to a bear. The Kodiak bear is even bigger than a Grizzly (due to the extra amount of protein it gets from Salmon) and yes, I googled that last part.
So what do you folks think of it? I am totally digging it.

Hi Sal,
Thanks for the great close-ups! While I’m relieved this tank isn’t called a Scorpion, I fear that this is another 343 change for change’s sake along the lines of the Forward Unto Dawn. Perhaps aside from the 4 treads, the front half of the turret moving as one with the barrel is the visual hallmark of a Halo tank. It’s why I never liked the original Scorpion build, made my own custom Scorpion, and am now having a negative initial reaction to what I’m assuming is a Halo 5 tank. Do you know if this build reflects in-game mechanics for the new tanks?
The canned answer from Mega is that these models are Mega’s interpretation of Halo assets. So, take from that what you will. You know as well as I that the sets are never 100% accurate to the in-game stuff. If the new tank is close to this, I’ll be happy with it. Oh and it seems that XBOX.com is calling the tank a Scorpion. So either they of Mega isn’t telling the truth or XBOX is still going by the old name, not wanting to let the real name be revealed yet. I think that’s more the case. But I guess we’ll see. Regardless if it’s called a Scorpion or not, I like this design.
I’m digging it also!
I actually never thought that it was a scorpion tank……….
I’m in love with that painted turret!
The tank looks awesome but for something that’s not a Scorpion tank, it sure does look like one! I don’t see the point in making a new tank if there’s pretty much no visual difference.
And are you sure the gray Spartan Recruit isn’t part of the set?

Hmm, amazing. Looks like I was given a bit of misinformation by Mega. This is quite disappointing. I am only repeating what I was told by the source.
