And on with the pics! (Click pics to make BIGGER)

The front package art is pretty cool. Great action scene. On the back you have a descriptive panel at top right that shows which weapons come with the set, while once again showing the figs and the light bridge, this time from some different angles.

I like the look of this year’s background design. It’s gritty and darker!

Here are the contents of the box.MB UNSC Fireteam Rhino contents

The larger bag has the following smaller bags and baseplate within it. Three of the smaller bags have the parts for the other three figures.MB UNSC Fireteam Rhino contents big bag

The pieces all sorted out with the figures assembled.MB UNSC Fireteam Rhino sorted

The Light bridge is quick and easy to assemble. First you make the three main sections, then put those sections together. MB UNSC Fireteam Rhino base

And voila, the set base is done. That Rhino flag looks pretty cool! I like the speckled look on the flag as well as on the Spartan Armor. Also, take note, this is the first set with an ORANGE Light Shield. I really like this color for it. We do need to eventually get one in red too as that’s the color the light shield is just before it blinks off.MB UNSC Fireteam Rhino base2

The weapons we get are all Promethean. I would have liked a Light Rifle to round out all of the Promethean Weapons. Had there been a 5th figure in the set (as there was to this set’s counterpart-Fireteam Eagle) we would have had the fifth weapon also.MB UNSC Fireteam Rhino weapons

And here are the Enforcer and Oceanic Spartans.MB UNSC Fireteam Rhino Enforcer-Oceanic

Finally, here is the whole set. I really REALLY like the speckled armor here. It makes the armor look more ‘lived in’ than has been in recent sets.MB UNSC Fireteam Rhino FIN

Summary: The set has a small build time. A good character selection as well as a varied amount of Promethean weapons included.

Overall Rating: I give this set 9 out for 10 medals. This set has good value for $15. With the 4 figures amounting $13 of the $15. That leaves $2 to account for the rest of the pieces which is made up for mostly with the light bridge and flag assembly.

Why did I give it a 9 out of 10?
• The only downgrade is that the 5th figure wasn’t included. The value is still quite good. However, since Fireteam Eagle just came out a couple of months ago and now we have Rhino, it feels like we were short changed a little with the 5th figure taken away. Still an great set! 1/2 point taken off for this.
• The piece count. When you consider Victor Squad for instance that has 129 pieces in it, here we got 12 less pieces. To make up for that, the fifth figure could have been included, or at the least, give us that Lightrifle. 1/2 point taken off for this.

Do I recommend it?  YES, VERY much! This is a good set. Regardless that it has one less figure than Fireteam Eagle. The armor color just sits so well with me. I hope this isn’t the last time we get figs with this armor color choice!

  1. Great review Sal!

Its odd that Mega is basically giving us the same set, (as with Victor) except with repaints and one less figure……

At least they’re good repaints though!

That orange hardlight shield is just too cool!
